摘要: A detection system for measuring one or more conditions within a predetermined area includes at least one fiber optic cable for transmitting light to and receiving scattered light from one or more nodes and a cover plate having an internal cavity. The cover plate surrounds the one or more nodes such that the one or more nodes are in communication with the internal cavity. A control system is operably coupled to the at least one fiber optic cable so that the scattered light received by the one or more nodes is transmitted to the control system. The control system analyzes the scattered light to evaluate a condition at the one or more nodes.

The one or more light sources are collectively operable to simultaneously produce at least two wavelength ranges of emitted light. The optical sensor is configured to sense light of the at least two wavelength ranges emitted by the one or more light sources and to distinguish each range. The controller is configured to detect particles based on the light sensed by the optical sensor.

摘要: The present invention is directed to reducing non-fire alarms by distinguishing between smoke caused by an actual fire and non-fire smoke generated in daily life when an event suspected to be a fire occurs. The present invention provides an apparatus and method for determining whether a fire occurs using a smoke detector, which includes a light emitter for generating multiple wavelengths, a light receiver configured to detect light scattered by particles of smoke, and a fire determiner for checking whether the strength of a signal of the detected scattered light exceeds a threshold and generating an alarm, to use characteristics of multiple wavelengths in a photoelectric fire detection apparatus. The fire determiner calculates normalized values by normalizing measured values for the scattered light, and calculates a singular value from the normalized values as a criterion for determining whether the smoke is caused by a fire or a non-fire.

摘要: Apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media for operating a scanning smoke detector are described herein. One apparatus a laser emitter configured to emit a beam of light, a rotational component configured to rotate the emitter such that the beam periodically scans across an area, and a light receiver configured to receive a reflected portion of the beam of light and determine a presence of smoke particles in the area based on the reflected portion. The smoke detection apparatus can be configured to operate at a first power level, decrease the beam to a second power level responsive to a determination that an object in the area is in a path of the beam, and increase the beam to the first power level responsive to a determination that the object is no longer in the path of the beam.

摘要: There is provided a smoke detector including a light source, a reflective surface, a light sensor and a processor. The light sensor receives reflected light when the light source emits light toward the reflective surface, and generates a reference detection signal when there is no smoke. The processor receives the detection signal from the light sensor, and automatically selects a set of predetermined condition thresholds according to a profile of the detection signal to be compared with the detection signal thereby determining whether to generate an alarm according to the comparison result.
