    摘要: A dispensing applicator may include a container configured to contain a fluid, the container including an inlet end having an opening and an outlet end, the container containing a predetermined volume of fluid; an end cap secured to the inlet end of the container; a gasket placed between the inlet end and the end cap, the gasket being secured to the inlet end and covering the opening; an attachment member received within and secured to the container, the attachment member including a length portion including a frangible section, the frangible section including a tongue element; and a fracture anvil configured to pivotably receive the tongue element, rotationable movement of the fracture anvil relative to the tongue element causing the tongue element to break while remaining attached to the frangible section such that fluid is released from the container.

    摘要: An applicator can have an ampoule body for holding a medical liquid; a tab extending away from the ampoule body and being twistable or deflectable with respect to a longitudinal axis of the ampoule body; and a frangible region in between the tab and the distal portion of the ampoule body, the frangible region being breakable in response to twisting or deflection of the tab. The applicator can have a resilient structure extending between the tab and the ampoule body and configured to allow the twisting or deflection to enable breakage of the frangible region while remaining intact and providing axial rigidity in response to a deflection pressure exerted on the tab during application of the medical liquid. The applicator can have features such as a thumb rest, a bubble portions, a pyramidal body construction, an offset frangible nodule, and various tab and head constructions.

    摘要: The invention relates to applicators for applying a solution or other composition (e.g., an antiseptic composition) to skin of a patient. The applicator may include a container body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a frangible member disposed at the distal end of the body. The applicator includes a first position where the container body and frangible member are a unitary piece (e.g., blow molded as a single piece), and a second position when the frangible member is rotated relative to the body to irreversibly break a weak point therebetween, releasing the composition in the hollow body through an opening. A porous applicator head may be positioned adjacent the distal end of the body and frangible member, so that the composition flows out the body, through the opening, and onto the head. The applicator may be formed in a blow-fill-seal process for improved sterility and ease of manufacture.
