    摘要: A high and low temperature resistant endless belt is disclosed. The belt includes a main belt body portion prepared from elastomeric material and a tensile member disposed in the body portion. A sheave contact portion is formed integral with the main body portion. The elastomeric material has high and low temperature resistant properties. The elastomeric material is formed from the reaction product of an amine or hydroxy terminated polyol, an hydroxl or amine terminated chain extender, and a polyisocyanate-containing composition adapted for rapid reaction with the extender when admixed therewith in a mold to retain flexibility and resiliency over heat age of the belt.

The male and female members extend generally parallel to the lateral edges of the belt and include interlocking complementary dovetail-like projections and notches. A pair of pins extend through the ends of the male and female members for ensuring that the male and female members do not separate as they travel around a pulley. The geometry of the male and female members is such that longitudinal forces extending between the female and male members are borne by the dovetail-like projections and notches and not the pins.

    摘要: A method of making power transmission belt including an endless belt body made of an elastomer matrix. Embedded in the endless body are tensile cords used to strengthen the belt. Along the inner circumference of the belt are formed a plurality of teeth having teeth bottoms there between. Embedded in the endless belt body between the tensile cords and the surfaces of the teeth and teeth bottoms is a layer composed of nonwoven fabric having the elastomer matrix permeated therethrough. The nonwoven fabric layer is evenly diffused in the teeth, but is compressed at the tooth bottoms to form, along with the elastomer matrix permeated therethrough, a thinly compressed layer protecting the tensile cords. The nonwoven fabric is placed around the outer cylindrical surface of a cylindrical internal die in a substantially uncompressed state. The tensile cords are wound spirally over the nonwoven fabric to compress the fabric to a predetermined thickness. Elastomeric material is injected into the die and hardened to form the transmission belt.

    摘要: A toothed belt is provided which is made of an elastomeric material or the like and which comprises a plurality of teeth, alternating with spaces, covered with at least one layer of textile material. The elastomeric material forming the top of at least one tooth and the relative covering textile material layer are shaped to define at least one depression limited by two lateral protuberances. The seam joining the textile layer end portions is situated along the depression so that no rubbing can take place between the seam and a surface external to the belt. Preferably, the depression botton is formed to have a curvilinear shape and the ratio between the thickness "s" of the covering textile material layer and the bending radius "r" of the depression bottom ranges between 0.1 and 10.0.
