摘要: A distributed multiband antenna intended for radio devices, and methods for designing manufacturing the same. In one embodiment, a planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) configured to operate in a high-frequency band, and a matched monopole configured to operate in a low-frequency band, are used within a handheld mobile device (e.g., cellular telephone). The two antennas are placed on substantially opposing regions of the portable device. The use of a separate low-frequency antenna element facilitates frequency-specific antenna matching, and therefore improves the overall performance of the multiband antenna. The use of high-band PIFA reduces antenna volume, and enables a smaller device housing structure while also reducing signal losses in the high frequency band. These attributes also advantageously facilitate compliance with specific absorption rate (SAR) tests; e.g., in the immediate proximity of hand and head “phantoms” as mandated under CTIA regulations. Matching of the low-frequency band monopole antenna is further described.

摘要: A wideband antenna includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a ground plane, an exciting element, a connection element, a first branch, a second branch, and a coupling branch. The ground plane is disposed on the first substrate. The exciting element is disposed on the second substrate and has a feed point coupled to a signal source. The connection element is disposed on the second substrate and coupled to the ground plane. The first branch is disposed on the second substrate and coupled to the connection element. The second branch is disposed on the second substrate and coupled to the connection element. The coupling element is disposed on the second substrate and coupled to the connection element. The distance between the coupling element and the second branch is smaller than 5 mm.

摘要: A tunable antenna including a dielectric substrate, a main antenna, and a resonating antenna is disclosed. The dielectric substrate is made of dielectric constant-tunable material. The main antenna is positioned on the dielectric substrate, the main antenna includes a feeding arm and a first grounding arm. The main antenna generates a low-frequency mode and at least one high-frequency mode. The resonating antenna is positioned on the dielectric substrate. The resonating antenna resonates with the main antenna to generate another high-frequency mode. The central frequencies of the low-frequency mode and the high-frequency modes of the tunable antenna are adjusted by adjusting a dielectric constant of the dielectric substrate.

摘要: Electronic devices may include radio-frequency transceiver circuitry and antenna structures. The antenna structures may form a dual arm inverted-F antenna and an additional antenna such as a monopole antenna sharing a common antenna ground. The antenna structures may have three ports. A first antenna port may be coupled to an inverted-F antenna resonating element at a first location and a second antenna port may be coupled to the inverted-F antenna resonating element at a second location. A third antenna port may be coupled to the additional antenna. An adjustable component may be coupled to the first antenna port to tune the inverted-F antenna. The inverted-F antenna may be near-field coupled to the additional antenna so that the inverted-F antenna may serve as a tunable parasitic antenna resonating element that tunes the additional antenna.

摘要: A printed circuit board (PCB) is disposed to stand vertically on a main board and having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. A main antenna pattern is formed on the first surface of the PCB to operate in dual band including a low frequency band and a high frequency band. A bandwidth extension pattern is formed on the second surface of the PCB and formed to operate in the high frequency band, the bandwidth extension pattern having a coupling stub which forms an overlapping portion with a portion of the main antenna pattern, with the PCB interposed therebetween, to implement an antenna having an extended bandwidth, which operates together with the portion of the main antenna pattern in the high frequency band.

摘要: The invention relates to an antenna comprising a dielectric substrate (1) and two resonant printed wiring structures, more particularly for use in high-frequency and microwave domain.
