    摘要: An I/O connector assembly configured for making a cabled connection to an interior portion of a printed circuit board for signals passing through the connector. The assembly may include a receptacle connector, a cage and cables, terminated to conductive elements of the terminal subassemblies, extending through the cage to the midboard. The terminal subassemblies may have first type conductive elements configured for mounting to the printed circuit board and second type conductive elements configured for terminating cables. Features may be included for precise positioning of the receptacle connector formed with the terminal subassemblies relative to the cage such that connector to connector variation in the positioning of the contact portions of the conductive elements in the terminal subassembly is provided. A mating plug may be designed with low wipe, which improves high frequency performance of the mated connector system.

The latch may be aligned with an alignment rib of the connector housing, reducing the space required for the latch.     摘要: An input/output connector system with a cable assembly that routes signals over a circuit board to which a receptacle connector is attached. A cage housing the receptacle has a channel with an opening at one end for mounting in a panel opening. The cage has an opening in a top surface through which a plug may be inserted into the channel to mate with the receptacle. The cage may be formed with one or more keys that engage channels on the plug to constrain motion of a plug inserted through the top surface to a direction perpendicular with the circuit board until the plug is inserted sufficiently into the cage that it can slide towards the receptacle without damaging the plug or receptacle. The plug may have one or more latch components on the sides, which engage with corresponding latch components on the cage when the plug is slid into engagement with the receptacle connector.

    摘要: An electrical connector having one or more openings formed in the connector's housing between adjacent rows of conductors. The openings may be positioned between rows of contact portions, and reduces crosstalk between conductors in adjacent rows. The opening(s) may extend through the entire length of the connector's housing. The opening(s) may have any suitable shape. In some embodiments, the openings may comprise a slot, bifurcated by crossbeams. The crossbeams may have ends positioned between signal conductors in the same row of the same type, either signal or ground. Alternatively or additionally, the crossbeams may be angled with respect to the rows of contacts such that the ends are positioned proximate conductors of a first type in one row and proximate conductors of a second type in another row.
