Abstract: Provided is a lead-acid battery which includes: an element; an electrolyte solution; a container housing the element and the electrolyte solution; and a lid member sealing the container, wherein the lid member includes: a middle lid covering the container; an upper lid welded to an upper portion of the middle lid in an overlapping manner; and an exhaust passage arranged between the middle lid and the upper lid, through which an inside of the container is communicated with an outside, wherein a bottom surface of the exhaust passage is inclined such that the solution in the passage returns into the container, and the upper lids include: a passage wall welded to the middle lid and forming a side wall of the exhaust passage; and a transverse wall formed on a ceiling surface of the exhaust passage and traversing the exhaust passage, and a lower end portion of the transverse wall is positioned above a welded portion between the passage wall and the middle lid.

Abstract: Provided is an energy storage apparatus which includes: a plurality of energy storage devices which respectively have an external terminal and are arranged in a row in a first direction; an adjacent member disposed between the energy storage devices disposed adjacently to each other in the first direction; and a bus bar which connects the external terminals of the energy storage devices disposed on both sides of the adjacent member to each other. The bus bar includes: a first connecting portion connected to one external terminal; a second connecting portion connected to the other external terminal; and a portion which extends in a projecting manner in a direction away from the adjacent member in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction or a portion which extends in a recessed manner in a direction that the portion approaches the adjacent member in the second direction in a state where the portion is spaced-apart from the adjacent member between the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion.

Abstract: An energy storage device includes a positive electrode having a positive active material layer containing an active material in the form of particles. The positive active material layer contains primary particles of the active material and secondary particles formed by aggregation of a plurality of primary particles. The proportion of primary particles relative to all particles of the active material in the positive active material layer is 5% or more and 40% or less. An method for producing an energy storage device includes preparing a positive electrode having a positive active material layer by forming a positive active material layer from a composite containing at least secondary particles of an active material, and assembling an energy storage device using the prepared positive electrode. In the preparation of the positive electrode, the positive active material layer is pressed to deagglomerate some of the secondary particles into primary particles, and the proportion of primary particles relative to all particles of the active material in the positive active material layer is adjusted to 5% or more and 40% or less.

The conductive portion includes: a fusible portion where a width size, which is a size in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, is defined by a pair of edges, the width size being smaller than a width size of other portions of the conductive portion; and a pair of enlarged width portions contiguously formed with both sides of the fusible portion in the first direction, a width size of the pair of enlarged width portions increasing in a direction away from the fusible portion. The fusible portion is disposed at a position where the fusible portion overlaps with the neighboring member, and a size of the neighboring member in the first direction is equal to or more than a size of the fusible portion in the first direction.

Abstract: The present invention reduces the effort involved in an operation for cancelling a current cutoff device while inhibiting a capacity decline during parking. Provided is a battery device 20 that is to be mounted on a vehicle, and that is provided with: an assembled battery 30 that supplies electric power to loads 10 including an engine starting device 10A; a current cutoff device 45 that cuts off an electric current to the loads 10 from the assembled battery 30; and a control unit 70, wherein upon detecting a parked state of the vehicle, the control unit 70 operates the current breaker device 45 so as to execute a current cutoff process for cutting off the current flowing from the assembled battery 30 to the loads 10, and following the execution of the current cutoff process, if a prior action to be performed on the vehicle by a user before starting driving is detected, the control unit 70 cancels the cutoff of current by cancelling the operation of the current breaker device 45.
