    Abstract: A method comprises displaying an image of an environment on a graphical user interface, the environment including personnel elements visible in the image, detecting a gaze of a user directed at an image of a first personnel element corresponding to a first information conveyor of a plurality of information conveyors, changing a state of the first information conveyor corresponding to the first personnel element from a passive state to a listening state in response to detecting that the gaze is directed at the image of the first personnel element, wherein the first information conveyor includes a first audio output device, receiving audio information through an audio input device, and when the state of the first information conveyor is changed to the listening state, controlling an output operation, wherein the output operation includes directing the received audio information as an audio output through the first audio output device.

    Abstract: A system comprises a manipulator assembly, one or more sensing elements configured to sense an arrangement of the assembly, and a control system configured to: determine a motion limit of the manipulator assembly based on the sensed arrangement of the assembly by using a position of a joint of a plurality of joints or using a position of a link of a plurality of links; store a plurality of threshold limits, where each of the plurality of threshold limits is associated with a procedure type and defines a limit of a range to be potentially travelled by the manipulator assembly to perform a procedure of the associated procedure type; select a threshold limit of the plurality of threshold limits based on which procedure type is to be performed; and provide a notification indicative of whether the selected threshold limit is outside a range of motion bounded by the motion limit.

    Abstract: A teleoperational medical system for performing a medical procedure in a surgical field includes a teleoperational assembly having a plurality of motorized surgical arms configured to assist in a surgical procedure. The motorized surgical arms have a motion limit defining a boundary beyond which the surgical arm cannot pass when the surgical arm is attached to a patient. The teleoperational medical system also includes a control system having a surgical threshold limit stored therein. The surgical threshold limit is an edge of a boundary to be potentially travelled by the surgical arm to suitably perform a surgical procedure. The control system is configured to compare the motion limit to the surgical threshold limit and notify an operator via an output device when the threshold limit is outside a range of motion bounded by the motion limit.

    Abstract: A system and method of monitoring control points during reactive motion includes a computer-assisted device. The computer-assisted device includes the one or more articulated arms and a control unit coupled to the one or more articulated arms. The control unit is configured to perform operations comprising determining, before movement of a table separate from the computer-assisted device, a latched spatial configuration of a plurality of control points associated with the one or more articulated arms; determining one or more geometric attributes of the latched spatial configuration; determining an actual spatial configuration of the plurality of control points as the one or more articulated arms track the movement of the table; determining a difference between the one or more geometric attributes of the latched spatial configuration and corresponding one or more geometric attributes of the actual spatial configuration; and performing, based on the determined difference, a remedial action.

    Abstract: A system and method of monitoring control points during reactive motion includes a computer-assisted medical device. The computer-assisted medical device includes one or more articulated arms each having a control point and a control unit coupled to the one or more articulated arms. The one or more articulated arms and corresponding control points are configured to track movement of a surgical table. The control unit monitors a spatial configuration of the one or more control points by determining an expected spatial configuration of the one or more control points during the movement of the surgical table, determining an actual spatial configuration of the one or more control points during the movement of the surgical table, and determining a difference between the expected spatial configuration and the actual spatial configuration.
