Abstract:
A drilling system utilizing a plurality of independent telemetry systems. The drilling system uses a drill collar as a pressure housing for downhole components of the system. One or more sensors are disposed within the pressure housing. These sensors can be MWD sensors, LWD sensors, or both MWD and LWD sensors. A plurality of independent borehole telemetry systems is used to telemeter sensor response data to the surface of the earth. Each sensor cooperates with a downhole component of at least one of the independent telemetry systems. The plurality of telemetry systems can be of the same type, such as a mud pulse systems. Alternately, the telemetry systems can be of different types including a mud pulse system and an electromagnetic system.
Abstract:
A system, apparatus, method, and computer program product for electronically stored file profiling and conversion including converting printable files to images, supported by meta-data, and one or more searchable master text files.
Abstract:
A system and method of providing network access comprising a processor, a first network interface coupled to the processor, a second network interface coupled to the processor, a storage media accessible by the processor and a set of computer instructions stored on the storage media, executable by the processor, where the computer instructions can be executable to receive a network communication over the first network interface from a user using a user device and determine if the network communication is associated with an authenticated user. If the network communication is not associated with an authenticated user, is not destined for a server in a walled garden, and a pre-authentication interface is specified, the computer instructions can be executable to direct the user to the pre-authentication interface. The computer instructions can be further executable to direct the user to an authentication interface when the network communication is not associated with an authenticated user, is not destined for a server in the walled garden, and a pre-authentication interface is not specified.
Abstract:
A system and method is provided for reliably detecting the file type of a client-requested and by-passing conventional ICAP processing if the detected file type corresponds to a non-viral file. The client-requested file is examined to determine whether it contains a predefined byte pattern (or “file signature”) corresponding to a non-viral type. The signature may be embodied as one or more predetermined “magic bytes” located at known offsets. For instance, the client-requested may be identified as a particular type of image file if it contains the set of magic bytes associated with that image format. Unlike prior implementations, when the client-requested file is determined to contain magic bytes corresponding to a non-viral file type, such as an image file, the file is returned to the requesting client without performing conventional ICAP virus-scanning operations.
Abstract:
A probe measurement system for measuring the electrical characteristics of integrated circuits or other microelectronic devices at high frequencies.
Abstract:
A probe for measuring the electrical characteristics of integrated circuits or other microelectronic devices at high frequencies may include a dielectric substrate that supports a signal path interconnecting test instrumentation and a probe tip and a ground path that shields both the signal oath and the probe tip.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method is described for optimizing prompts for a speech-enabled application. The speech-enabled application is operable to receive communications from a number of users and communicate one or more prompts to each user to illicit a response from the user that indicates the purpose of the user's communication. The method includes determining a number of prompt alternatives (each including one or more prompts) to evaluate and determining an evaluation period for each prompt alternative. The method also includes automatically presenting each prompt alternative to users during the associated evaluation period and automatically recording the results of user responses to each prompt alternative. Furthermore, the method includes automatically analyzing the recorded results for each prompt alternative based on one or more performance criteria and automatically implementing one of the prompt alternatives based on the analysis of the recorded results.
Abstract:
A multi-person racing canoe that can be assembled in sections to make different canoe configurations for different numbers of people. When the sections are disassembled, they pack for storage and/or transportation. A particular embodiment of the present invention uses a common tail section with an optional middle section and different bow sections to configure as a 2-man, 4-man or 6-man racing canoe. The sections can be coupled to form the various configurations with a rhino horn-shaped fastener. An outrigger or AMA can be mounted at several different positions fore and aft in the different configurations.
Abstract:
The present invention is a multi-ply automated mail advertising piece. The multiple pages of the advertising piece are adhered at a lead edge with a permanent glue to contribute to the structural integrity of the advertising piece. The multiple pages are further preferably adhered to each other with nonpermanent glue spots to facilitate the separation of pages. Multiple separable pages provide for more advertising and coupon space, without the requirement that optional perforations align for each page.
