Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting an early data transmission (EDT) in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state is provided. The current gNB receives a resume request message including uplink (UL) data from the wireless device, and transmits a logical channel identifier (LCID) for the UL data to the last serving gNB. The last serving gNB transmits UL forwarding user plane (UP) transport network layer (TNL) information to the current gNB based on mapping between the LCID for the UL data and data radio bearer (DRB) ID or protocol data unit (PDU) session ID in a UE context stored in the last serving gNB. The current gNB forwards the UL data to a core network via the last serving gNB based on the UL forwarding UP TNL information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for discarding a buffered data in a wireless communication system is described. A central unit (CU) user plane (UP) of a gNB receives a buffered data discard indication from a CU-control plane (CU-CP) of the gNB, and discards buffered data for a user equipment (UE) based on the buffered data discard indication. Even after discarding the buffered data, UE context is still kept. The CU-CP is a logical node constituting the gNB that hosts a radio resource control (RRC) protocol and a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP)-C protocol, and the CU-UP is a logical node constituting the gNB that hosts a PDCP-U protocol.

Abstract: One disclosure of the present specification provides a method for supporting redundant protocol data unit (PDU) sessions. The method may be performed by a unified data management (UDM) node and comprise: receiving, from a first session management function (SMF) node, a first message including a first redundancy sequence number (RSN) which is allocated by the first SMF node for managing a first PDU session and an identifier of the first PDU session; transmitting, to a second SMF node for managing a second PDU session, a second message including the first RSN and a PDU session pair ID, which is identical to the identifier of the first PDU session; and receiving, from the second SMF node, a third message including a second RSN which is allocated by the second SMF node and an identifier of the second PDU session. The second PDU session may be duplication of the first PDU session.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for managing UE context in a wireless communication system includes: receiving a UE context request message including a radio resource control (RRC) establishment cause from a second BS, wherein the first BS and the second BS are located in a same radio access network (RAN)-based notification area (RNA); and when the RRC establishment cause is related to RNA update, transmitting a UE context response message to the second BS, wherein the UE context response message piggybacks a RRC message requesting a UE to move to a RRC inactive state.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for saving energy for a Distributed Unit in a wireless communication system is provided. A CU establishes a connection between a Distributed Unit (DU). The CU transmits, to the DU, a second message in response to the first message, wherein the second message includes information informing that the deactivation request for the DU is accepted or not based on the determination.

Abstract: A method for a wireless device in a wireless communication system includes receiving a paging from a distribution unit (DU) of a base station; and upon receiving the paging message, initiating a service request procedure. The paging information includes paging discontinuous reception (DRX) information and paging priority information. The DU of the base station has a radio link control (RLC) layer, a media access control (MAC) layer and a physical layer of the base station. In addition, the CU of the base station has a radio resource control (RRC) layer, a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer, and a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer of the base station.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting a link congestion detection in a in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network is provided. An IAB-donor-central unit (CU) performs downlink (DL) transmission, receives information about a problem on a backhaul (BH)-radio link control (RLC) channel between a first IAB-node and a second IAB-node, and stop/reduces the DL transmission to the second IAB-node via the BH-RLC channel between the first IAB-node and the second IAB-node based on the information. The IAB-donor-CU may select a path towards the second IAB-node other than the BH-RLC channel between the first IAB-node and the second IAB-node, and perform DL transmission towards the second IAB-node via the selected path.
