摘要： An alert system includes an audio speaker or video display, and a communications unit. The communications unit is retained and supported by a power and data unit, and is configured to access data sources that include at least one of schedule information, environmental information, news reports, fire/police alerts, weather statements/information, and user-specific information, and to communicate with the audio speaker based upon the accessed data sources. The communications unit is configured to network with a computing device associated with a first user. The communications unit is configured to access the one or more data sources as defined by user-specific parameters associated with the first user. The first user is identified based upon a user ID associated with the networked computing device. The communications unit is configured to direct the audio speaker or the video display to issue an alert in response to the one or more accessed data sources.

摘要： A wireless electrical power system for a furniture article, includes a wireless electrical power transmitter and an electrical cord. The wireless electrical power transmitter is configured for mounting below a top support surface in an upper region of an upright arm of a furniture article such as a chair or sofa. The electrical cord has a proximal end coupled to the wireless electrical power transmitter and a distal end configured to extend downwardly through the upright arm and exit the furniture article for connection to an outside power source, such as a wall outlet. The wireless power transmitter is energizable by the outside power source to wirelessly convey electrical power to a portable electrical or electronic device having a wireless electrical power receiver and a rechargeable energy storage device, when the portable electrical or electronic device is supported at the top support surface of the upright arm.

The outlet housing portion cooperates with a housing enclosure portion by filling an opening of the housing enclosure, where the housing enclosure and outlet housing portions cooperate with a housing base to define an interior cavity that receives the electrical or electronic components associated with the electrical or data outlets. The electrical components may be installed without any separate mechanical fasteners, and the housing components may be assembled with minimal use of separate fasteners.

摘要： An electrical receptacle assembly is mountable at an opening in a work surface to provide convenient access to electrical power and/or data. The assembly includes a main housing and a housing shell. The main housing defines an interior cavity for receiving a lower portion of an electrical or data outlet, and has an outlet opening in which a face of the electrical or data outlet is supported. The housing shell is coupled to the main housing and surrounds at least a portion of the interior cavity. Respective outer surfaces of the main housing and the housing shell cooperate to form an outer surface of the two-piece housing that is insertable into the opening in the work surface. A fastener, which may be an internally threaded collar, engages the two-piece housing, which may be externally threaded, and also engages the work surface, to secure the assembly to the work surface.

摘要： A liquid spill resistant electrical receptacle includes a main body and a front portion. The front portion includes a front surface and rear surface. Terminals are recessed rearwardly from openings formed in the front surface, and are connected to wires extending rearwardly from the main body. The front surface includes a first surface portion, in the vicinity of the openings, which is positioned forwardly from a second surface portion that is located generally outboard of the first surface portion. Optionally, the first surface portion may be in the form of outwardly-extending ridges around the terminal openings, and configured to direct water or other liquids away from the terminal openings associated with the terminals.
