摘要： In a calling facsimile, if an operator sets an encryption communication mode, a random number sequence is generated by a random number generating section 15. A control section 11 produces an encryption key from the random number sequence, and transmits the random number sequence used for producing the encryption key to a telephone line 3 with the random number sequence included in NSS which is an option signal. At the same time, an encryption/decryption processing section 16 subjects information to be transmitted to encryption processing on the basis of the encryption key. The encrypted information is transmitted to the telephone line 3. On the other hand, in a called facsimile, the encryption key is reproduced on the basis of the random number sequence included in the NSS, and the received information is decrypted on the basis of the reproduced encryption key. Accordingly, the encryption key need not be determined in advance between a transmitter and a receiver. Further, the encryption key does not leak during transmission, thereby protecting the security of communication.

摘要： In a multifunctional pager receiver comprising a processing circuit (30) operable in a plurality of modes of operations, each mode is selected by manual switches (51, 62-64) smaller in number than the modes. A combination of successive manual operations of the switches changes the modes from an intermediate one to a final one. At least one of the switches is operated plural times. An operation announcement is stored in a message processor (32) included in the processing circuit and displayed in the intermediate mode on a display unit (71) so as to specify the following modes to be selected. A plurality of message signals are stored in a random access memory included in the message processor. A part of each stored message is successively and rapidly displayed on the display unit. A decoder cooperates with the message processor in the processing circuit to detect a call number signal assigned to the pager receiver and delivers a sequence of clocks to the message processor.

摘要： In a radio paging receiver which is capable of responding to a message signal specific to the receiver and which comprises a display unit (90) and a message processing section (60) for making the display unit display the message signal, the message processing section monitors the message signal to produce a drive signal after reception of the message signal until the message signal is delivered to the display unit. Responsive to the drive signal, a combination of transistors (3 and 2) keeps power supply of a power source 18 to the message processing section as long as the drive signal is produced. Such power supply is carried out regardless of a state of a power supply switch (20). A decoder (40) makes a speaker (80) generate an alarm in response to the drive signal after the power supply switch is put into an off state. The alarm lasts until the switch is put into an on state. The message processing section may comprise a RAM for storing the message signal as a stored signal and another RAM for storing specific information indicating whether or not the stored signal is delivered to the display unit. Alternatively, such specific information may be stored in a memory included in the decoder.
