摘要: A fluid line assembly, preferably for charge air to be supplied to an internal combustion engine, comprising a fluid conduit extending along a longitudinal axis which defines an axial direction for the passage of a fluid and comprising a sound attenuation assembly received in an axial receiving portion of the fluid conduit which comprises at least two piping components, said sound attenuation assembly at least contributing to an attenuation of sound propagated in the fluid. The invention provides that the connection of the at least two piping components of the axial receiving portion with one another, and the connection of the sound attenuation assembly with the axial receiving portion of the fluid conduit is free of adhesive and melted connections.

摘要: A hose assembly 20 for engine intake air comprises a hose 22 having connection regions 22a, 22b at first and second ends of the hose and an axially compressible and extendable bellows region 22c disposed between the two connection regions. In the invention, an inextensible inner tube 24 is disposed within the hose 22 which has a gas-impermeable wall. The inner tube 24 has first and second ends 24a, 24b that seal, respectively, against the first and second connection regions 22a, 22b of the hose when the bellows region is compressed. At least one of the first and second ends of the inner tube 24a separates from the adjacent connection region 22a of the hose 22 when the bellows region 22c is extended.

摘要: A pulsation absorbing device and method of making a pulsation absorbing device is disclosed. The pulsation absorbing device includes a pressure vessel having a resilient diaphragm mounted therein together with an inlet associated with one end of the pressure vessel and an outlet associated with the other end of the pressure vessel. A spool is mounted within the pressure vessel inwardly of the resilient diaphragm and intermediate and in communication with the inlet and the outlet to carry fluid from the inlet to the outlet. The spool and the resilient diaphragm define a pressure chamber therebetween which is in fluid communication with fluid carried from the inlet to the outlet through holes in the spool. A helical wave band is disposed on the spool for accommodating flow through the holes in the spool and defines a plurality of helically spaced flow accommodating openings. With this arrangement, at least some of the flow accommodating openings of the helical wave band are in communication with the holes in the spool after the helical wave band has been spirally wound upon the spool in accordance with the disclosed method.

摘要: A three-way valve for use in a fluid pulsation attenuator having a flexible diaphragm forming an interface with a flow of pulsating fluid on one side and a chamber of pressurized air on the other. The valve includes a head and an attached sliding tube having a plurality of orifices through its wall. As the head follows movement of the diaphragm, the sliding tube moves between positions which permit one or more orifices to communicate with chambers in the valve to either introduce additional pressurized air into the air chamber portion of the attenuator, or to discharge air therefrom, as needed, to quickly achieve matching, at start-up, and the continuance of matching of the air chamber pressure to the running-average pressure of the fluid on the other side of the diaphragm, and thus to keep the diaphragm's average position approximately centered within its range of movement, ready to absorb pulses of either sign.

摘要: An anti-extrusion grommet assembly is provided for releasably retaining a tubular valve housing in the liquid port of a bladder-type pressure accumulator. The grommet assembly of the invention is constructed to preclude any possibility of the valve housing from being blown out through the port in the presence of normal operating pressures within the accumulator shell. The assembly is particularly intended for use with relatively small sized accumulators of, for example, capacities of the order of one gallon.

摘要: In an accumulator consisting of a high pressure cylindrical oil vessel and a gas bladder of same figure concentrically housed therein, at the bottom of said gas bladder is provided a cushion cup with its opening upside, when the gas bladder expands in a longitudinal direction said cushion cup comes to directly contacts a poppet valve provided at the port of said oil vessel so that the bladder is not ruptured and when the gas bladder contracts in a longitudinal direction, said gas bladder can get away easily from the poppet valve.

摘要: The invention relates to a pressure vessel comprising a container of rigid material having a cylindrical portion defining an open mouth which is formed by reversely bending inwardly the end of said cylindrical portion to form a cylindrical flange portion. The curved junction between the flange portion and the cylindrical container portion is a semi-circle, the flange portion extending parallel to the cylindrical container portion beyond a diametrical line between the ends of the semi-circular junction. A closure assembly comprising a cylindrical plug having a reduced diameter sleeve defining an annular shoulder is positioned in said container mouth, with said shoulder engaging the rim of said cylindrical flange, the latter being restrained from transverse inward movement by abutment against said sleeve.

摘要: This invention relates to a pressure vessel and more particularly to a pressure accumulator having a substantially cylindrical body portion with a port at one end and a mouth at the other with a cover member adapted to close such mouth and also having a port. An annular supporting member of rigid sheet metal is positioned in the pressure vessel and has a deformable bladder having a rim bonded to the supporting member and defining two variable volume chambers therein in communication respectively with such ports. The supporting member has a first positioning means including abutment means formed integral therewith cooperating with the mouth of said cylindrical body portion to center the supporting member and bladder in the pressure vessel and has a second positioning means including abutment means also formed integral therewith and cooperating with said cover member to position the latter in axial alignment with said body portion, and weld means are provided to retain said body portion, said cover member and said supporting member in fixed position.

摘要: A cushion maintaining device for use with a water service line is operative to automatically maintain a gas cushion in a chamber within a body member mounted on and extending upwardly from the water service line and positioned adjacent a valve, faucet, or the like to absorb shock caused by sudden closing of the valve or faucet. The cushion maintaining device includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode positioned in spaced apart relation within the body member mounted on the water service line and electrically connected to a source of electrical current. Electrical components are connected in the circuit to the electrodes to convert current thereto to pulsating direct current to thereby convert water in contact with the electrodes to gas which maintains a gas cushion within the body member.
