    Abstract: Described herein is a method of adding one or more boronic acid functional compounds to a mineral ore to result in a treated mineral ore. Where the mineral ore is a bauxite ore, and the ore is subsequently processed according to the Bayer process to obtain alumina, adding a boronic acid functional compound to the bauxite ore or a Bayer product followed by processing the treated bauxite ore or treated Bayer product using one or more processes associated with the Bayer process results in an increased yield of alumina product, increased alumina content (purity) in the alumina product obtained, or both when compared to the same bauxite ore or Bayer product subjected to the same process(es) but in the absence of a boronic acid functional compound.

    Abstract: Hydrophilic cationic dispersion polymers, compositions including same, and methods of using same. In some examples, a composition can include a hydrophilic cationic dispersion polymer disposed on a surface of a substrate. The substrate can be a paper, a textile, a non-woven material, a film, or mixtures thereof. The hydrophilic cationic dispersion polymer can include repeating units derived from a first monomer and a second monomer. The first monomer can be a nonionic monomer and the second monomer can be at least one hydrophilic cationic monomer selected from a diallyl-N,N-dimethylammonium halide and a monomer of the formula I: where A1 can be O or NH; B1 can be a C2-C4 alkylene or hydroxypropylene; R1 can be H or CH3; R2 and R4 can independently be a C1-C2 alkyl; R3 can be H or a C1-C2 alkyl; and X1 can be an anionic counterion.

    Abstract: A chemical dispensing system can include a docking stating that receives a reservoir containing chemical to be dispensed. The reservoir may have a slidable closure covering an opening through which the chemical can be dispensed from the reservoir. The reservoir may be engaged with the docking station so that the slidable closure on the reservoir is operably coupled to a movable element on the docking station. A user can engage the movable element on the docking station to cause a slidable closure on the reservoir to open. As a result, chemical in the reservoir can discharge through the opening uncovered by moving the slidable closure. In this way, the contents of the reservoir may be dispensed without the user coming into physical content with the chemical in the reservoir.

    Abstract: The invention discloses synergistic combinations of surfactant blends and cleaning compositions employing the same. In certain embodiments a surfactant system is disclosed which includes an extended anionic surfactant with novel linker surfactants including one or more of an alkyl glycerol ether, an ethoxylated alkyl glycerol ether, an alcohol ethoxylate and/or a Gemini surfactant. This system forms emulsions with, and can remove greasy and oily stains, even those comprised of non-trans fats. The compositions may be used alone, as a pre-spotter or other pre-treatment or as a part of a soft surface or hard surface cleaning composition.
