Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate inactive state transmissions for a User Equipment (UE) via a 4-step or 2-step inactive state RACH process. One example aspect is a UE device, comprising: communication circuitry; and a processor configured to perform operations comprising: in response to a determination to perform a Radio Resource Control (RRC) inactive data transmission: transmitting, via the communication circuitry, a message 1 (Msg1) or a message A (MsgA) preamble based on a Random Access Channel (RACH) configuration for the RRC inactive data transmission; transmitting, via the communication circuitry a message 3 (Msg3) or a MsgA Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) comprising uplink (UL) data via configured resources; and receiving, via the communication circuitry, a message 4 (Msg4) or a message B (MsgB) in response to the Msg3 or the MsgA PUSCH.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to receive slice based RACH configuration information, wherein the selecting is based on the slice based RACH configuration information, determine that a first network slice and a second different network slice are in operation when the UE is in a radio resource control (RRC) connected state, initiate an access stratum (AS) triggered random access channel (RACH) procedure, select RACH resources associated with one of the first network slice or the second network slice for the RACH procedure based on the slice based RACH configuration information and transmit a signal over the RACH using the selected RACH resources.

Abstract: Systems and methods for sidelink (SL) power control within wireless communication systems are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) selects a parameter set to use to calculate a transmit power of one or more channels to be transmitted according to an SL session with a peer UE from a plurality of parameter sets each configured for use according to a distance between the UE and the peer UE. A UE determines whether an SL pathloss based calculation is to be used to calculate a transmit power of a channel according to an SL session with a peer UE, wherein that calculation is configured to be used depending on a distance between the UE and the peer UE. UE selection of a number of physical SL feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions to match a UE capability and determinations regarding whether to perform PSFCH reception or PSFCH transmission are also discussed.

Abstract: A receiving user equipment (UE) may be configured perform operations relating to sidelink communications with a transmitting UE. The receiving UE may establish a sidelink session with a transmitting UE, perform a local sensing, receive a Physical Sidelink Control Channel (PSCCH), a Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCH), and reserved multiple resources from the transmitting UE, whereby the transmitting UE reserves the reserved multiple resources. The receiving UE determines whether a coordination message is triggered and, in response to the coordination message being triggered, the receiving UE transmits the coordination message to the transmitting UE, the coordination message indicating whether a collision occurs among the reserved multiple resources.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for configuring full power transmission modes in a UE. The disclosed full power transmission modes include a Mode 0 and a Mode 3, which are enhancements over previous modes disclosed in the 3GPP specification. The UE gathers supported modes and configuration capabilities, such as number of ports and supported coherency schemes, and forwards the configuration capabilities to the network. The network analyzes the received information and selects a supported full power transmission mode based on the UE capabilities. The selection is then transmitted to the UE in a PUSCH-Config message. The UE extracts the selection from the PUSCH-Config message, and configures its radio accordingly.

Abstract: Systems and methods for performing measurements of one or more cells during an small data transmission (SDT) procedure between a user equipment (UE) and a network when the UE is in a radio resource control (RRC) INACTIVE state are described herein. Beam and/or cell measurements taken during an SDT measurement period of the SDT procedure may be used to determine one or more respective cell qualities, among other possibilities. Beginnings and endings of the SDT measurement period, and the manner (timing) for taking measurements within the SDT measurement period, are also described. The cell qualities so determined can then be used to monitor, during the SDT measurement period, for a measurement event, which causes the UE to send a measurement report to the network having data determined using those cell qualities, and/or to send messaging intended to induce the network to change the RRC state of the UE.

Abstract: Systems and methods for multicast data traffic service continuity under multicast-broadcast services (MBS) operation during a radio resource control (RRC) state or mode transition are described. In some embodiments, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a network, while in an RRC connected mode, an RRC release message comprising an RRC inactive mode point to multipoint (PTM) configuration that uses an MBS session to receive multicast data traffic while the UE is in an RRC inactive mode; enters the RRC inactive mode from the RRC connected mode in response to the RRC release message; and uses the RRC inactive mode PTM configuration to receive, from the network, the multicast data traffic of the MBS session while the UE is in the RRC inactive mode. Cases where a UE instead re-uses an RRC connected mode PTM configuration after transitioning to the RRC inactive mode are also described. Analogous network behaviors are described.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for handling timing alignment for configured grant based small data transmissions in inactive mode in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may establish a radio resource control connection with a cellular base station. The wireless device may receive an indication to release the radio resource control connection. The indication to release the radio resource control connection may configure resources for performing uplink transmissions while in the radio resource control inactive mode. A timing advance may be maintained while in the radio resource control inactive mode. An uplink transmission may be performed using resources configured for performing uplink transmissions while in the radio resource control inactive mode. The uplink transmission may be performed using the timing advance.
