Abstract: A method and an apparatus for installing a profile in a terminal including a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) corresponding to a smart card security module, which is inserted into a mobile communication terminal and then used are provided. More particularly, a method and an apparatus for remotely installing or removing mobile communication subscriber information in/from a profile of a terminal are provided. The terminal can remotely download the profile from a network server (subscription manager data preparation (SM-DP) or subscription manager secure routing (SM-SR)) without any change in a mobile network operator information technology (IT) system interface rather than downloading the profile of the terminal by the network server.

Abstract: A method for transmitting/receiving, by a User Equipment, a signal in a mobile communication system includes: transmitting an authentication request message to a wireless LAN; receiving an authentication response message corresponding to the authentication request message from the wireless LAN; and transmitting, to a base station, a message for supporting a multi-connection mode based on the authentication response message. It is possible to generate an access connection or to provide a QoS setting when simultaneously accessing a 3GPP system and a non-3GPP system and transmitting/receiving data, so that a more improved method and device for transmitting and receiving data can be provided to a user.

The above-described method makes it possible to form a bearer having a high priority for using a public safety service.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for barring access of terminals connected to a base station. A communication method of an Internet protocol multimedia service (IMS) entity, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: receiving a service request message from a terminal; determining whether to allow an access of a service according to a load status of the IMS and the service requested from the terminal; and transmitting, to the terminal, a connection barring message which includes information for indicating that the access of the terminal is barred, when it is determined to bar the access of the service. According to the one embodiment of the present invention, the IMS can be prevented from being congested due to loads concentrated on IMS entities such as a P-CSCF and the like, and can prevent a situation in which an emergency call or a priority call of a person from a police station or a fire station or the like cannot be received.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling Short Message Service (SMS) delivery to a User Equipment (UE) over a Packet-Switched (PS) network without involvement of any Circuit Switched (CS) network node are provided. The method includes receiving subscriber information of a terminal from a Home Subscriber Server (HSS), determining whether the MME supports short message delivery over a Packet-Switched (PS) network, and transmitting, when the MME supports the short message delivery over the PS network, a registration request message including information for routing the short message to the MME to the HSS. The SMS delivery method and apparatus is capable of delivering the SMS message to the UE over the PS network without involvement of the CS network nodes, thereby negating the necessity of CS network nodes for supporting SMS service, resulting in reduction of maintenance and management costs.
