Abstract: The present disclosure relates to fifth generation (5G) or pre-5G communication systems provided to support a higher data rate than that given by long term evolution (LTE) or other post-fourth generation (4G) communication systems. A method for performing a sidelink communication by a terminal is provided. The method includes sending, to a base station, a request for multiple grants for the sidelink communication and a first indicator indicating whether the terminal supports multiple transmissions of the sidelink communication to different destinations in a sidelink control (SC) period, receiving the multiple grants from the base station, and performing the multiple transmissions to the different destinations in the SC period.

Abstract: A method and system signal resource allocation information in an asymmetric multicarrier communication network. A MS communicates with a BS using asymmetric carriers consisting of at least one low frequency carrier (e.g., primary carriers) in a cellular band and at least one high frequency carrier secondary carriers) in a millimeter Wave band. In one embodiment, the BS allocates resources for one or more transmit time intervals in at least one of DL allocation interval of a secondary DL carrier and UL allocation interval of a secondary UL carrier for the MS, where the DL allocation interval spans one or more subframes of the secondary DL carrier and the UL allocation interval spans one or more subframes of the secondary UL carrier. The BS then transmits information regarding the allocated resources to the MS in a Packet Data Control Channel region of a subframe of the primary DL carrier.

Abstract: A system and method for use in a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) is disclosed. The method for performing a discovery transmission on a second carrier by a user equipment (UE) served by a primary cell (PCell) on a first carrier, includes receiving, from a base station, a signaling indicating that the UE read discovery resource configuration for the second carrier on the second carrier or that the UE should request the discovery resource configuration for the second carrier from the base station for acquiring the discovery resource configuration for the second carrier. The method also includes acquiring the discovery resource configuration based on the signaling.

Abstract: A method for performing, by a User Equipment (UE), Device-to-Device (D2D) communication using a wireless communication network is provided. The method includes performing D2D communication via a direct communication path using an allocated Internet Protocol (IP) address, establishing a first Evolved Packet System (EPS) bearer supporting D2D communication via the wireless communication network, to a Packet Data Network (PDN) Gateway (P-GW), determining to switch from the direct communication path to D2D communication via the wireless communication network, and communicating an IP packet through the first EPS bearer based on the determination. An IP packet transmitted through the first EPS bearer may not be transmitted to a packet data network, or an IP packet received through the first EPS bearer is not received from the packet data network.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for traffic safety are provided using vehicle driving-related information obtained on the basis of a transmission/reception beam pair of a road side unit (RSU) and a vehicle on-board unit (OBU), thereby reducing a probability that vehicle collisions occur where visual fields may be obscured. The method includes setting a path from a current location of the electronic device to a destination, and transmitting a message indicating an emergency situation to other devices located on the path while moving to the destination. The method further includes determining a transmission/reception beam pair of the electronic device and a road apparatus, using a reference signal received from the road apparatus, transmitting a signal including information for the transmission/reception beam pair to the road apparatus, and receiving, from the road apparatus, a message warning that the electronic device and another neighboring electronic device are approaching each other.

Abstract: A method for transmitting information in a transmission time interval by a device in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes fragmenting the information into two or more information fragments, if a size of the information is greater than a transportable size of unit transmission resource used for transmission of the information; generating a protocol data unit (PDU) including fragmentation information and one of unfragmented information and a fragmented information fragment; and transmitting the PDU through the unit transmission resource. The fragmentation information includes an identity of a specific unit transmission resource within the at least one transmission time interval and fragmentation control (FC) information indicating at least one of whether the information is fragmented or not and a position of the fragmented information fragment within the two or more information fragments. The identity of the specific unit transmission resource is uniquely assigned within the transmission time interval.
