A backlight unit includes: a plurality of cold cathode fluorescent lamps; a plurality of capacitors respectively connected to both ends of each of the cold cathode fluorescent lamps, the capacitors having respective impedance that are selected to allow the same amount of current to flow through each of the plurality of the cold cathode fluorescent lamps; and an inverter connected to the capacitors of the cold cathode fluorescent lamps.
Abstract:
A method of effectively compressing a test vector is introduced for testing a system-on-chip (SOC) semiconductor device. Since the number of test vectors is increased in a SOC, the number of ‘0’s is increased if adjacent test vectors are properly aligned using an ordering algorithm. ‘0000’ is considered as a single block and a counter of ‘0-group’ is incremented by one to encode each further instance of the string ‘0000’. A codeword capable of being decompressed can be generated using only a counter without using a memory block.
Abstract:
In one form of the invention, a thermoelectric chiller and warmer is provided which can decrease or increase the temperature of a contained liquid or solid and liquid combination such as a bottled or canned liquid and/or solid. In one embodiment, the thermoelectric chiller/warmer is equipped with one or more cylinders into which containers, such as for example, bottles can be inserted. The liquid or solid is efficiently and evenly chilled or warmed and a specific temperature once obtained may be maintained. Also, a cover may be supplied to enclose the air space around the container located in a cylinder so that moisture is prevented from entering the air space. In one embodiment, one or more containers may be simultaneously chilled or warmed.

A high pressure condenser for a magnetron, in which a pair of dielectric ceramics having an arch shape are separated from each other, central conductors are connected to internal peripheries of the dielectric ceramics, and a ground metal is connected to external peripheries of the dielectric ceramics, thereby not requiring any additional structure for connecting the dielectric ceramics and the central conductors, simplifying the structures of the central conductors, and reducing the quantity of the dielectric ceramics needed in proportion to the separation interval between the dielectric ceramics.
Abstract:
A refrigerant cycle system in which the arrangement of a connecting pipe for connection between a compressor and an accumulator is improved effectively to recover oil collected in the accumulator to the compressor. The accumulator is installed to be separate from the compressor. A connecting pipe is arranged between the compressor and the accumulator to feed a refrigerant gas separated in the accumulator to the compressor. An oil recovery hole is provided at an inlet portion of the connecting pipe received in the accumulator such that it is arranged at a level higher than a highest level portion of the connecting pipe located outside of the accumulator. A second accumulator may be connected between the connecting pipe and the compressor while being directly installed at the compressor. In this case, the connecting pipe has an outlet portion connected to the second accumulator.

A method of initializing en equalizer of VSB DTV receiver and an equalizer using the same are provided. The method includes the steps of: obtaining a channel estimation value by estimating an impulse response of a channel from a received signal, initializing the backward filter by using the channel estimation value; generating an imaginary training signal by an arithmetical operation for the channel estimation value and an generated known training sequence; and initializing the forward filter by using the imaginary training signal.

A method of forming a double-gated transistor having a rounded active region to improve GOI and leakage current control comprises the following steps, inter alia. An SOI substrate is patterned and a rounded oxide layer is formed over the exposed side walls of a patterned upper SOI silicon layer. A dummy layer, having an opening defining a gate, is formed over the exposed patterned top oxide layer and the exposed portions of the upper SOI silicon layer. An undercut is formed into the undercut lower SOI oxide layer and the exposed gate area portion of the oxide layer is removed. The portion of the rounded oxide layer within the gate area is removed and a conformal oxide layer is formed over a part of the structure. A gate is formed within the second patterned dummy layer opening and the patterned dummy layer is removed to form the double gated transistor.
Abstract:
A control system for estimating the tongue length of a trailer being towed by a vehicle in connection with a front wheel steering with or without coordinated rear wheel steering associated with the vehicle. The control system employs an algorithm that calculates an estimated trailer yaw rate based on a corrected tongue length, a front wheel steering angle, a rear wheel steering angle, vehicle speed and a vehicle yaw rate. The estimated trailer yaw rate is compared to a measured trailer yaw rate to generate a yaw rate error that is converted to a tongue length error. The tongue length error is compared to the estimated tongue length to become a corrected estimated tongue length for a next computation period. After a few seconds of processing, the corrected estimated tongue length will be the actual tongue length of the trailer.

A water leakage detecting device for effectively detecting water leakage and sensing malfunctions in the device is disclosed. The device includes a base retaining water leaked from a tub, a detector detecting whether leaked water is retained in the base, a first signal generator outputting a signal, when the detector detects the leaked water, a second signal generator outputting a signal, when the detector does not detect the leaked water, and a controller deciding whether to drain the leaked water and determining whether the water leakage detecting device has a malfunction.

A method and system for WiBro network interworking in a wireless terminal. The method includes: setting up, by a relay station for connecting the WLAN terminal with the WiBro network, a connection through an initial process with the WiBro network; performing, by an access router, Internet connection authentication on a user of the WLAN terminal in response to a request for Internet connection from the WLAN terminal; allocating, by the access router, an IP address in response to a request for IP address allocation from the WLAN terminal, and then allocating, by a WiBro radio access station, a unique Connection IDentification (CID) corresponding to a QoS level of the terminal user in response to a request from the relay station; and mapping, by the relay station, the allocated unique CID to the IP address of the WLAN terminal and providing Internet service.
