    摘要: Magnetron configurations that provide more efficient and/or more uniform cooling characteristics and methods for forming the magnetrons are provided. The magnetron includes one or more flow directing structures disposed between parallel cooling fins. The flow directing structures direct air flow across various surfaces of the cooling fins that otherwise would be obstructed by magnetron components, reducing the incidence and/or magnitude of hot spots on the cooling fins and/or on other magnetron components. The flow directing structures also adjust flow rates to improve cooling efficiency.

A magnetron includes an anode cylinder extending in a cylindrical shape along a central axis, a plurality of tabular vanes each having at least one end fixed to the anode cylinder and extending toward the central axis from an inner surface of the anode cylinder, and pressure-equalizing rings disposed coaxially with respect to the central axis of the anode cylinder, and alternately electrically connecting the tabular vanes to each other. The tabular vanes have protrusions facing the pressure-equalizing rings in an axial direction of the anode cylinder, and notches serving as base points for deforming the protrusions toward the pressure-equalizing rings sides or opposite sides thereto.

    摘要: A magnetron includes: an anode tube; and cooling fins placed on a periphery of the anode tube and arranged along a central axis of the anode tube. Each of the cooling fins includes at least two sets of fins formed by cutting a part of the cooling fin, and performing different bending works on the cut portions, respectively, so as to form a region where the cooling fins are dense and a region where the cooling fins are sparse, when viewed in a flowing direction of a cooling medium which cools the anode tube through the cooling fins. The at least two sets of fins are bent at bending angles such that intervals of the cooling fins in the region where the cooling fins are dense are ½ or less of placement intervals of the cooling fins.

    摘要: A stabilized high-voltage power supply is disclosed, having a general setup similar to a pulse-step modulator. The power supply comprises a plurality of DC power modules (40) having their outputs connected in a series configuration. Each power module comprises a DC voltage source (41), a DC-DC converter (42), and an output switching circuit (43). The total output voltage of the power supply is regulated by regulating the DC link voltage at the output of each power module. This is achieved by an appropriate feedback control circuit driving the DC-DC converter of each power module. In this manlier, low output ripple and a rapid response to changes in output current can be achieved. The power supply may be used, e.g., as the cathode power supply of a gyrotron.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for containing plasma and forming a Field Reversed Configuration (FRC) magnetic topology are described in which plasma ions are contained magnetically in stable, non-adiabatic orbits in the FRC. Further, the electrons are contained electrostatically in a deep energy well, created by tuning an externally applied magnetic field. The simultaneous electrostatic confinement of electrons and magnetic confinement of ions avoids anomalous transport and facilitates classical containment of both electrons and ions. In this configuration, ions and electrons may have adequate density and temperature so that upon collisions ions are fused together by nuclear force, thus releasing fusion energy. Moreover, the fusion fuel plasmas that can be used with the present confinement system and method are not limited to neutronic fuels only, but also advantageously include advanced fuels.
