    摘要: A pressure sensitive occupant sensor seat switch to detect the presence of an occupant in an automobile seat. A flat body formed of electrically insulating, resilient compressible material has one or more openings extending therethrough. A pad formed of electrically nonconductive compressible, resilient, inorganic or semiorganic material having discrete electrically conductive particles dispersed throughout occupies each opening. When the pad is uncompressed, the electrically conductive particles do not engage one another. When the pad is compressed, however, the electrically conductive particles engage one another and the pad becomes conductive. Electrical conductors on both sides of the insulating body make electrical contact to the pads so that the switch assembly controls a device connected to it when pressure is applied.

    摘要: An occupant sensor seat switch for detecting the presence of an occupant in an automobile seat. One or more resilient elastomeric pads having electrically conductive particles dispersed throughout are disposed between a base and a cover member to comprise a switch assembly. The resilient elastomeric pads are electrically conductive when compressed and nonconductive when in an uncompressed condition. Electrical connections are made to both sides of each pad so that when the pads are compressed the occupant sensor seat switch is rendered conductive.

    摘要: Terminating of an electrical conductor comprising a nonconductive core having conductive means on its surface and enclosed within an insulating jacket is effected by stripping the insulating jacket from at least one end of the conductor and casting an electrically conductive anchor member on the exposed end of the conductor, the anchor member being formed from a molten metal which shrinks upon solidification to provide an exceptionally secure mechanical and electrical bond between the core and the anchor member. The exposed end of the conductor may be kinked prior to the casting of the member.

    摘要: A relay construction having an energizable and deenergizable electrical winding operable to effect movements of an armature to and from a switch-closing position and wherein a non-conductive, elastomeric pad is interposed between the switch contacts, the elastomeric pad containing discrete, normally separated, electrically conductive particles dispersed therein in such quantity as to render the pad electrically conductive in response to compression thereof. The pad is mounted in such position as to be compressed in response to movement of the armature toward its switch-closing position. The elastomeric pad may be impregnated with or immersed in a lubricant and may form part of an electrically non-conductive, oil impervious seal or gasket for effect an environmental seal for the operating parts of the relay.
