Abstract:
A depilatory wax dispenser having a housing (1) in which is arranged a reservoir (2) for the wax and an applicator device having a roller (5) mounted for rotation on a pivot pin (7). The pivot pin has two ends which extend through two opposite transverse walls (4a, 4b) of a rectangular opening (4) provided at the reservoir (2) outlet. The opening (4) has an edge which provides with the roller (5) peripheral surface a slot dispensing melted wax. The opening (4) edge and the roller (5) peripheral surface between which the slot is arranged are made of elastically deformable materials. An element (10) is axially mobile relative to the pivot pin (7) for simultaneously exerting a force on the rectangular opening (4) edge forming the slot and on the roller (5) surface, for deforming them jointly.
Abstract:
A cooking appliance, in particular a heating appliance for foodstuffs, for example for deep-frying in oil, including a removably mounted bowl (7) surrounded by a spaced outer skirt (2), a heating device (15, 17, 18) arranged under the bowl (7), and a heating control member (30). The appliance further has an outer bowl (10) at least partially surrounding all the faces of the removably mounted bowl (7), the outer bowl (10) being mounted between the removably mounted bowl (7) and the outer skirt (2) and being spaced therefrom, while the heating device (15, 17, 18) is fixedly mounted on the outer bowl (10).
Abstract:
An electric kettle includes a plastics material tank side wall structure for liquid to be heated and a heating arrangement including an electrical element associated with a metal heater plate mounted at the bottom of the side wall structure with its top face in direct contact with the liquid to be heated. The side wall structure includes shoulders to support a peripheral rim of the metal heater plate. A seal is disposed between the side walls and the peripheral rim of the heater plate. The kettle has a base including a skirt which fits around the side walls of the tank. A fixing arrangement attaches the base to the tank side wall structure.
Abstract:
A bread toaster comprising: a frame; a bread-supporting carriage mounted in the frame for vertical movement between a toasting portion and a first bread discharge position, the carriage having an extension; first cushioning means for cushioning arrival of the carriage at the first bread discharge position; return means mounted between the frame and the extension of the carriage; and a control means having an abutment and being movable in the frame for limiting ascent of the carriage to a second position by interaction of the abutment with a part of the carriage, wherein: the second position is a second bread discharge position for discharging bread having a first size and the first bread discharge position is a position for discharging bread having a size smaller than the first size; and one of the abutment and the part of the carriage which interacts with the abutment is provided with second cushioning means for cushioning arrival of the carriage at the second position.
Abstract:
A method of treating a metal surface is disclosed wherein a series of microcavities is formed on the surface and a coating is applied to at least part of the surface. The surface is shot blasted using small balls projected against the surface. Applications include the manufacture of culinary receptacles.
Abstract:
A culinary vessel is made from two sheets of different metals or alloys laminated together and stamped to form a vessel having a bottom and a side wall. The bottom incorporates small stamped cavities such that the cavities formed in the outer sheet enter complementary cavities formed in the inner sheet. This strengthens the bond between the two sheets.
Abstract:
An applicator for a thermoplastic product, the applicator including: a housing (1) constructed to be held by a user and having a longitudinal axis and an end provided with two mutually parallel longitudinal walls (11b) and two transverse walls (11c) delimiting a product outlet opening (20); a reservoir (2) for holding the product, the reservoir being installed in the housing, being constructed to be in thermal communication with a heating unit (4) and being open at one end to permit product in the reservoir to flow into the product outlet opening; an applicator roller (15) located in the product outlet opening and having an axis of rotation which is parallel to the longitudinal walls; and a mechanism for displacing the applicator roller parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing in order to vary the thickness of a slit through which the thermoplastic product flows out of the applicator.
Abstract:
A method and device for preventing the formation of scale in an electric appliance for producing steam, which appliance includes a reservoir for holding a quantity of water and a steam generation member for effecting a substantially instantaneous generation of steam; and a scale preventing device. Scale formation is prevented by heating water upstream of the reservoir to a temperature and for a time sufficient to precipitate minerals present in the water into a form which allows the precipitated minerals to be expelled from the appliance with steam generated by said steam generation member.
Abstract:
An obturation device for the disposable bag (1) of a vacuum cleaner, the bag (1) having a rigid area (1a) in the vicinity of a closable filling inlet, in order to fix the bag (1) to a frame part (13) of the vacuum cleaner, as well as a flap (5) for closing the bag (1) , the flap being displaceable by rotation between an open position and a closed position of the filling inlet in the extension plane of the rigid area (1a). The closing flap (5) is mounted in the rigid area (1a) which is provided with a profiled perforation (4a) whose shape and contour form a guiding structure (4) within which the closing flap (5) can move. Application to disposable bags for vacuum cleaners.
Abstract:
The article is constituted from a plate produced from a relatively soft first metal (1). It has, on one of its faces, a metallic element (2) in the form of a perforated sheet or a grid produced from a second metal or alloy harder than that of the plate (1). The metallic element (2) is fixed to the plate by drop-forging or stamping in order to embed it, at least partially, in this plate. The article is especially useful as a cooking vessel.
