Abstract:
A foldable device for keeping and displaying a shearing tool comprises a transparent top piece, a transparent bottom piece, and a connection piece located between the top piece and the bottom piece. The top piece is provided with a recessed receiving slot having a predetermined shape for holding the blades and the pivoting portion of the shearing tool such that the shearing tool can be tested without being removed from the device.

A unique clamshell-type holding and displaying member is attained which is capable of securely retaining an arcuately pivotable product therein, with the product being able to be tested prior to purchase, by incorporating product a holding and locking member which peripherally surrounds and securely lockingly engages one arm of the product. In the preferred embodiment, the holding and displaying member is constructed for securing scissors or shear-type products and the product holding and locking member is constructed to peripherally envelope one finger loop forming handle thereof, thereby assuring secure, retained interengagement of the product in the holding and displaying member.

Packaging is provided for a toy that includes a body having bottom wall having a slot. The packaging includes bottom, top, front, back and side walls defining a box sized to receive the toy and a key. The bottom surface of the box has an opening aligned with the toy's slot so that the key may be passed through the bottom box opening into the toy's body slot. The key includes a shaft, a head at one end of the shaft, and a base at another end of the shaft. The head is sized to fit through the box opening and body slot and shaped so that the key head will remain in the toy body when the key head is rotated in the body. The base of the key is sized to prevent passage of the base through the box opening. If the toy includes a wheel operated display, the box bottom may be provided with a slot which allows access to the wheel so that the display may be operated without removing the toy from the box.

A sealed container (10) having a plurality of compartments. A first compartment (11) has a window (15) with a transparent panel. A humidity indicator device (16) is placed within the first compartment (11). A second compartment (12) is coupled to the first compartment (11) by a plurality of environmental exchange channels (17). At least one article (27), such as plastic encapsulated electronic components, is stored in the second compartment (12). A third compartment (13) is coupled to the second compartment (12) by a plurality of moisture transport channels (20). A desiccant (31) is placed in the third compartment (13). An internal environment of the sealed container (10) is monitored by viewing the humidity indicator device (16) through the window (15).

A package for handling and shipping optical fiber jumpers which permit testing during manufacturing and by the end user, which package includes a sheet having allochiral halves each with cut-outs to form ears upon which to spirally wind a length of optical fiber having a connector plug formed on each end. The halves are folded together and subsequently the length of fiber bridging the fold line can be cut to provide two pigtails.
Abstract:
A working clamshell blister package for a pliers or similar tool includes a pair of opposing mirror-image panels having recesses and joined along a common lower end to form a base portion. The base portion is provided with a pair of openings for accomodating the handles of the pliers and has a bridge formation located between the openings. When the opposing panels are placed in contacting relation, a compartment is formed in which the working portion of the pliers may be enclosed, with the junction of the pliers members being supported by the bridge formation. A pair of pliers contained in the package may be manipulated a specified extent by the customer prior to purchase without opening the package.

A functional blister package for snipper-type scissors comprising a display card; a transparent, flexible, blistered elongated covering; an outwardly bent edge on the transparent covering facing the display card and made to adhere to said card; the transparent covering being generally shaped to conform to the shape of the snippers; one end of the generally elongated transparent covering being shaped to closely embrace and lock in place the U-shaped handle of the snippers; the other end of the transparent covering being trapezoidal in shape to permit restricted movement of the blades; and a cut-out portion in the transparent blistered covering substantially midway between said ends and allowing the finger or thumb loop of the snipper to project outside so as to permit the snippers to be grasped and tested by the prospective purchaser.

A drill bubble-packaged on a card having a punched hole exactly the size the tool will bore. The card has a coating in the form of a flat ring around the hole; such ring being of a contrasting color and may be printed or constitute an adhered holereinforcement washer.
