    摘要： The object of this invention is to provide an improved pile weatherstrip having a loop-shaped barrier film. The weatherstrip, which is used for sealing openings between fixed and movable members, comprises a backing strip to which is secured a barrier film of loop-shaped cross section formed, for example, from a polypropylene material. The loop-shaped film is formed from a web of material folded upon itself with one end portion thereof secured in various ways to the backing strip and an opposite looped portion extending from the strip.

    摘要： Sealing apparatus for overhead doors in which a horizontally disposed elastomeric reservoir containing a quantity of fluid is secured to a header above the door and spaced tubular elastomeric members are secured at each side of the door to the building structure. The tubular members are in fluid communications with the fluid in the reservoir. An elongated flat bar secured to the top of the door bears against the reservoir when the door is closed causing fluid to be forced into the tubular members, extending them into sealing contact with the side edges of the door, while the reservoir seals the edges along the top of the door. Opening of the door releases the fluid pressure permitting the tubular members to retract and return fluid to the reservoir.

    摘要： A retroglazed glass pane of a window, wherein a spacing element, which is attached and sealed to the peripheral portion of a face of a new or second pane slightly smaller than the original light of the first or existing pane, is bonded to the confronting face of the first pane in a position such that a space remains between the sash elements and the edge of the second pane and the radially outward side of the spacing element, wherein such space is partially filled with a sealant material, which seals between the spacer and the first pane, and which such space is further filled with a resiliently compressible rod, typically of a rubberlike foam material, the rod being preferably characterized by low thermal conductivity; and a method of retroglazing wherein a desiccant is contained in such spacing element, protected against exposure prior to installation of the second pane, and wherein such rod is forced into the space between the edge of the second pane and the sash to force sealant material pre-deposited in such space to seal effectively between the spacing element and such confronting face of the first pane.

    摘要： A sliding doors and seals system and a passenger vehicle having such system with the latter including inflatable seals and weather seals arranged to conceal and protect the inflatable seals against direct and even indirect contamination and tampering therewith and such as to provide a failsafe feature whereby a pair of sliding doors will be frictionally retained closed by one inflatable seal alone upon failure of the other inflatable seal. This system comprises a side wall having a door aperture and defining a pair of lateral edge portions extending along the opposite lateral edges of the door aperture, a pair of three-sided inflatable seals cooperatively extending longitudinally along the full periphery of the door aperture and each having a lateral portion secured against the corresponding lateral edge portion of the side wall, a pair of static seals secured against each lateral edge portion on the opposite sides respectively of the corresponding lateral portion of the inflatable seals, one static seal outward of the corresponding inflatable seal forming a static weather seal engaging the internal border of the corresponding sliding door, the lateral edge portions of the side wall and the seals against it remain overlapped or covered by the corresponding sliding door for any position of the doors, the inflatable seals are separately pressurized and the doors are positively interconnected by a cable to provide the above mentioned failsafe feature.

    摘要： An environmental-isolation room door-seal in which the mating faces of a door frame and of a door closable thereinto in a preferred embodiment are of structures which define between opposing surfaces thereof a channel circumscribing the outer edges of the door and the inner edge of the door frame extending around the perimeter of the door, including on each of opposite sides of the door channel a sealing strip, each sealing strip also circumscribing the door, and a vacuum pump and a pressure equalizing conduit and switch operatively connected to the channel, with the exhaust of the vacuum pump outlet being directed through a chemical purifying device, whereby the vacuuming of the channel serves both to further lock together the closed door and frame thereof, and to trap and conduct away any air or gases which might under adverse circumstances seep past the inner-door seal into the vacuumed channel, thereby preventing contamination of environment outside of the door of the environmental-isolation room.
