Abstract: A fluid coupling has two similar coupling halves, each with a rotary body of a valve. A drive device for closing/opening the valve is associated with each rotary body. Each half has a coupling means for connecting/decoupling the halves by relative rotation. Securing means secure the connection when at least one valve is open and close the two rotary valves to disconnect/connect the halves. The drive device is arranged on one half and has a drive shaft which is associated with a valve shaft of the rotary body of the other half. A locking connection is configured which, when the halves are connected, connects the drive shaft on one half to the valve shaft on the other in a non-rotatable/releasable manner such that the rotation of the rotary body is controllable and relative rotation of the halves is blocked but the relative rotation when the valves are closed is permitted.

Abstract: Fluid management systems for handling pressurized fluid connect various subsystems or subunits without the need to use reinforced tubing. The system utilizes one or more segments of unreinforced conduit that are encapsulated at various points along a length of the segment with one or more rigid encapsulating members. The unreinforced conduit may be made a disposable element while the rigid encapsulating members may be re-used. In one aspect, the encapsulating member may include a two-part valve body that surrounds and encapsulates a portion of the unreinforced conduit. In another aspect, the encapsulating member may include a two-part jacket that surrounds and encapsulates a portion of the unreinforced conduit. The two-part valve bodies and two-part jackets may be joined at various points within the system as part of the overall flow system.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for an improved safety cam lock fitting having side by side double cam levers having outer and inner portions so that when the outer cam levers are opened and the inner cam lever remain closed, the male and female portions of the cam lock fitting only slightly separate from each other allowing the operator to quickly reclose the cam lock fitting if the operator observes that the cam lock fitting still contains pressurized material. This is accomplished by providing a larger cam lobe on the outer cam lever and a smaller cam lobe on the inner cam lever so that when the smaller cam lobe is in a closed position and protrudes into a peripheral groove on the male portion the male and female ends have a small space therein between. A lever latching mechanism may be used to prevent the cam levers from being inadvertently opened.

Abstract: A tubular quick coupling comprises a first tubular element with a hollow connector body defining an axial orifice that is to receive a second tubular element provided with a circular rib, a latch blocked axially in the first tubular element and radially actuatable to release the second tubular element from the first tubular element, and a security system that prevents the second tubular element being withdrawn. The security system is a flexible and breakable ring that has a perimeter portion inside the first tubular element between the inlet of the orifice of the body and the latch in order to block the second tubular element coaxially in the first tubular element in spite of actuating the latch, and the ring has at least one perimeter portion in the form of a breakable loop that projects outside the body.

Abstract: According to one aspect, a quick disconnect connector is provided. The quick disconnect connector includes a first component and a second component which is matable with the first component. A releasing element is engageable with at least one of the first component and the second component to unmate the first component and the second component. A locking element is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The locking element, in the locked position, engages the releasing element to prevent the releasing element from unmating the first component and the second component. The locking element is movable from the unlocked position to the locked position by application of a locking force to the locking element. The locking force can be applied to the locking element by fluid being carried by the quick-disconnect connector.
