Abstract:
A predictive call routing system that includes a real-time decision engine to receive information about a customer and identify a skill that is useful for providing service to the caller. The decision engine identifies the skill by generating scores for a plurality of statistical models using the statistical models and parameters associated with the caller, each statistical model representing a correlation between a subset of parameters and an action that may be performed or requested to be performed by the caller, the score for each statistical model being generated using the statistical model and the subset of parameters associated with the statistical model, and identifies a skill based on the scores. The system includes a call router to route a call from the customer to a representative who has the skill.
Abstract:
A system for responding to queries has an interface for receiving request communications from requesters. An agent platform is configured to receive the request communications and to provide replies to the requesters. A tracking module tracks the request communications and the replies and a news module tracks news events. A correlation module correlates increases in request communications relative to a first news event over a set time frame. An analysis module generates a search assistance routine based on the correlated increases in request communications relative to the first news events over a set time frame, where the search assistance routine is activated when a second news event is detected, similar to the first news event.
Abstract:
A call handling system receives an asynchronous call request, from a call requester, requesting performance of an operation, where the call request includes a delay parameter specified by the call requester. The call handling system performs the requested operation, and sends a callback to the call requester, which includes partial results from performance of the requested operation, at selected intervals determined by the delay parameter.
Abstract:
A method is provided in one example embodiment and includes communicating initial digits associated with an original request for a call and receiving a message indicating an incomplete address for the original request. The method also includes responding to the message by appending additional digits to the original request to generate a new request. The additional digits are buffered before receiving the message indicating the incomplete address associated with the original request. In other embodiments, the original request is a session initiation protocol (SIP) INVITE message that includes a uniform resource identifier (URI), which reflects an address for reaching a destination user. The initial digits can be partially matched against a dial plan in order to trigger the message associated with the original request. The additional digits are configured to satisfy the message and to connect the call. The message associated with the original request can be a session initiation protocol (SIP) 484 message.
Abstract:
A solution for initiating a telephonic connection is provided. A calling user can provide data identifying a receiving device and corresponding to a call message. In response to requesting initiation of the telephonic connection, the length of the call message can be determined, and a transmission solution for the call message can be selected based on the length. When the length is sufficiently short, the call message can be included in caller ID information for the telephonic connection. When the length is longer, the call message can be transmitted as a data message and initiation of the telephonic connection can subsequently take place after a delay.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to measure market share for VoIP carriers is disclosed. An example method includes querying a plurality of VoIP carrier servers to determine the VoIP carrier server that owns the telephone subscriber number (SN), in response to the querying, receiving a plurality of messages operable to determine whether the telephone SN is found within any one of the plurality of VoIP carrier servers, when the received plurality of messages is at least one of inconclusive or when the telephone SN is not found within any one of the plurality of VoIP carrier servers, placing a first partial call to the telephone SN from a first VoIP number within a first VoIP carrier network, receiving a first signal from the first VoIP carrier network, and based on the first received signal, determining whether the telephone SN belongs to the first VoIP carrier network.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to measure market share for voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) carriers is disclosed. An example method includes querying a plurality of VoIP carrier servers to determine the VoIP carrier server that owns the telephone subscriber number and, in response to the querying, receiving a plurality of messages operable to determine whether the telephone subscriber number is found within any one of the plurality of VoIP carrier servers. The example method also includes, when the received plurality of messages is at least one of inconclusive or when the telephone subscriber number is not found within any one of the plurality of VoIP carrier servers, placing a first partial call to the telephone subscriber number from a first VoIP number within a first VoIP carrier network. Further, the example method includes, in response to placing the first partial call, receiving a first signal from the first VoIP carrier network, and based on the first received signal, determining whether the telephone subscriber number belongs to the first VoIP carrier network.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the invention includes a method for detecting fraudulent use in a conference calling system. A threshold period is received, wherein the threshold period indicates the maximum allowable time period for a participant of a conference call to enter the conference call prior to the entry of the moderator of the conference call. A monitor detects the entry of the moderator into the conference call and entry of the participants into the conference call. A waiting period is determined for one or more of the participants, wherein the waiting period represents the time period between the entry of the moderator and the entry of the participant. A processor compares the waiting period to the threshold period. If the threshold period exceeds the waiting period, the conference call is allowed to continue. In at least one embodiment, actions are performed with the processor if the waiting period exceeds the threshold period.
Abstract:
A tone signal received in a telecommunications network is bandpass filtered based on an identified type of the received tone signal, providing a bandpass filtered tone signal. The tone signal is also bandstop filtered based on the identified type of the received tone signal, providing a bandstop filtered tone signal. The bandpass filtered tone signal and the bandstop filtered tone signal are analysed and the received tone signal is quantified based on the analysis result.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods are directed towards ranking of messages based on a hop distance a forwarded message travels through a social network. As a message is forwarded by a member of the social network the hop distance increases. As the message is forwarded, recipients and/or senders may view the hop distance in real-time. The hop distance may reflect a number of times the message is forwarded to reach a recipient, or the maximum number of times the message is forwarded. The message may be displayed to a member in a rank ordering based on the hop distance, and messages with hop distances below a defined value may be deleted from a displayed list after a period of time. In one embodiment, a message may be forwarded anonymously to, for example, encourage members to forward the message.
