Abstract:
A control valve assembly for controlling fuel pressure in a control chamber of a fuel injector. The control valve assembly comprising a valve member arranged in a bore provided in a valve housing, at least one of the valve member and the valve housing being moveable with respect to the other, wherein the valve member comprises a fuel-receiving cavity arranged to receive fuel that distorts at least a portion of the valve member so as to increase an external dimension thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a connector assembly for airbag restraint systems. The connector assembly comprises a connector housing and secondary locking means assigned to the connector housing. The secondary locking means is arranged movable relative to the connector housing and can be moved from an open position to a locked position. Further the secondary locking means comprises two separate locking members wherein each of the two separate locking members is configured to be independently movable.
Abstract:
A fuel pump assembly for an internal combustion engine comprising at least one engine cylinder into which fuel is injected, each cylinder having an associated cylinder piston which reciprocates within the associated cylinder in use. The fuel pump assembly comprises a plurality of unit pumps each having a pumping plunger for pressurising fuel within an associated pump chamber; and a crank shaft which is driven rotationally by means of the or each cylinder piston. The crank shaft carries a cam arranged to drive the pumping plungers of the unit pumps and further carries at least one crank assembly which is coupled to a respective one of the cylinder pistons, in use. The plurality of unit pumps are radially spaced around the crank shaft and located at the same axial position along the crank shaft so that each of the unit pumps is driven, in use, by the same cam.
Abstract:
A fluid injector comprising a coil arranged to drive a pump from a first state to a second state when energized, so as to pump a dosing fluid; a PN junction electrically arranged across the coil to discharge energy stored in the coil when the voltage across the coil is above a threshold. In one particular embodiment, the fluid injector is a selective catalytic reduction dosing fluid injector.
Abstract:
The present application relates to a pump unit for a fuel injection system. The pump unit has a low pressure fuel supply line and a high pressure fuel outlet. A pumping chamber having a plunger is operable to perform a pumping cycle comprising a pumping stroke and a filling stroke. The pump unit also includes an inlet valve having an inlet valve member movable between an open position for permitting the supply of fuel to the pumping chamber from the low pressure fuel supply line and a closed position for inhibiting the supply of fuel from the pumping chamber to the low pressure supply line. An outlet valve is provided in the high pressure fuel outlet. The pump unit also includes a means for latching the inlet valve member in its open position. The present application also relates to a method of operating a pump unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an hand crimp tool for crimping electrical contact terminals onto electrical cables. This hand crimp tool comprises a crimping frame with two substantially parallel guide rails, and the lever handles configured to be manually operated. The hand crimp tool further comprises a first crimping die and a corresponding second crimping die, at least one of which being mounted to a die carrier. The guide rails are substantially bar-shaped and oriented in a common longitudinal direction. The die carrier is configured to slide in a linear direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the guide rails, along inner opposite faces of the guide rails, thereby being guided from a cable receiving position to a crimping position.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are disclosed for transmitting drive between a first and at least one further component. The apparatus includes an elongate shaft element extending along a respective longitudinal axis and comprising a first and further shaft region, each of which comprises a substantially cylindrical outer surface extending from a respective first and further side of a cam body region. The apparatus also includes a fluid communication pathway extending within the shaft element from a first end region of the shaft element to at least one outlet aperture in an outer surface of the first cylindrical region.
Abstract:
A filter assembly includes a filter body; a central support for the filter body; an opening provided in each of upper and lower ends of the filter body for receiving a respective end of the central support; and a disposable filter cartridge housed within the filter body for receiving a filter member for filtering contaminates. The filter member is arranged for fluid flow in a radial direction from a first side of the filter member to a second side of the filter member. The disposable filter cartridge includes an impermeable wall that extends axially through the filter member adjacent the second side thereof to protect the second side of the filter member during replacement of the disposable filter cartridge. The impermeable wall is defined by a hollow cylinder which is axially aligned with the openings provided in the upper and lower ends of the filter body.
