Abstract:
A packing method and packing machine for producing a slide-open package of tobacco articles with a hinged lid can include obtaining a wrapped group of tobacco articles with a first packing unit; obtaining an inner container which houses the wrapped group of tobacco articles and has the hinged lid with a second packing unit by folding an inner blank about the wrapped group of tobacco articles; and obtaining an outer container which slidably houses the inner container inside and is provided with a connecting tab, that at one end is integral with the outer container and at the other end is glued to the lid of the inner container, with a third packing unit by folding an outer blank about the inner container.
Abstract:
A coupling unit and method for inserting a support fitted with a hygroscopic pad in a base during the manufacture of a disposable cartridge for an electronic cigarette; are provided: a first seat that accepts the support fitted with the hygroscopic pad; a second seat that accepts the base and can be axially aligned with the first seat; a transfer device that inserts the support fitted with the hygroscopic pad in the base by applying a relative axial movement between the support fitted with the hygroscopic pad and the base; and a suction device, which is coupled to a first end of the base opposite to a second end of the base through which the support fitted with the hygroscopic pad enters, and causes suction that acts inside the base.
Abstract:
Machine and method for producing electronic-cigarette cartridges; being provided: a fill conveyor which feeds bottom shells of the cartridges along a fill path; a filling device located along the fill path to feed a measure of a liquid substance downwards into each bottom shell; an assembly conveyor which feeds bottom shells along an assembly path; a transfer station where the bottom shells are transferred from the fill conveyor to the assembly conveyor; and at least a first assembly device located along the assembly path to fit each bottom shell with a corresponding top cap.
Abstract:
A packet of smoking articles having: a cup-shaped outer container; a cup-shaped lid hinged to the outer container to rotate, with respect to the outer container itself, between an open position and a closed position; a group of articles; an inner package which encloses the group of articles, is housed inside the outer container, and at the top and front has a lift-up portion separated from the rest of the inner package by a pre-weakened U-shaped parting line and is completely torn the first time the packet of smoking articles is opened to expose an article extraction opening; the lift-up portion of the inner package is directly in contact, without the interposition of other elements with an inner surface of the top wall of the lid and with an inner surface of the front wall of the lid.
Abstract:
A pack provided with: a group of tobacco articles; and a sealed wrap, which encloses the group of articles, has a pull-out opening for the articles, has an inner pressure that is different from the atmospheric pressure, and consists of a heat-sealable sheet of wrapping material, which is folded around the group of articles and is stabilized by means of heat-sealing.
Abstract:
A method for producing smoking articles, in particular cigarettes, each comprising a respective first tobacco rod portion; the method comprises the step of cutting a second rod portion, which is four times the length of the first rod portion, crosswise so as to obtain third rod portions, which are twice the length of the first rod portion; the third rod portions are offset and aligned so as to be fed in succession; the speed at which the third rod portions are conveyed before the offsetting procedure is smaller than the speed at which they are conveyed after the offsetting procedure.
Abstract:
Disposable electronic-cigarette cartridge; the electronic-cigarette cartridge having: a hygroscopic plug; a liquid substance which impregnates the hygroscopic plug and is vapourized in use; and a surface covering, which is located on the outside of the hygroscopic plug, completely covers the hygroscopic plug itself, is impermeable to liquids, and is permeable to gas.
Abstract:
A manufacturing machine and a method for producing a cartridge for an electronic cigarette having a base, a supporting base at least partly inserted inside the base, of a heating member fitted to the supporting base, having a hygroscopic pad surrounding the heating member are disclosed: a conveyor, which comprises a gripper designed to house the supporting base fitted with the heating member; a feed device for positioning the hygroscopic pad, initially flat and rectangular in shape, facing the gripper; and an insertion device for inserting the supporting base fitted with the heating member inside the gripper so as to intercept the hygroscopic pad which, as it is inserted inside the gripper, folds into a ‘U’ around the heating member.
Abstract:
A grouping method and unit for forming a line of products on a packing machine; a first feed conveyor feeds a succession of spaced products along a straight, horizontal grouping path at a first speed; a first compacting conveyor moves a first compacting member along the grouping path, downstream from the first feed conveyor and ahead of a first product in the line, at a second speed slower than the first speed, so as to slow down the first product and compact the intermediate products in the line against the first product; and a second compacting conveyor moves a second compacting member along the grouping path, downstream from the first feed conveyor and behind a last product in the line, at a third speed higher than the first speed, so as to compact the last product against the intermediate products in the line.
Abstract:
Packing machine and packing method for producing an inner container by folding an inner blank about a wrapped group of tobacco articles; the inner blank is fed along a packing path by way of a packing conveyor and through a work station wherein a folding device is arranged, provided with two twin folding bodies that are moved along a work direction perpendicular to the packing path for folding portions of the inner blank; each folding body has a top member, an intermediate member, and a bottom member which are arranged in different positions along the work direction to perform in succession respective folds of the inner blank while the folding body moves with a continuous motion along the work direction.
