    Abstract: A display unit includes a display region, a peripheral region, an insulating layer, a separating groove, and a sealing section. A plurality of pixels are disposed in the display region. The peripheral region is provided on outer edge side of the display region. The insulating layer extends from the display region to the peripheral region. The separating groove is provided in the peripheral region and separates the insulating layer into an inner peripheral portion and an outer peripheral portion. The sealing section is provided in the outer peripheral portion of the insulating layer and seals the display region. The separating groove has a width that is narrower as a distance is larger from an outer end of the display region to an outer end of the sealing section, and is wider as the distance is smaller.

    Abstract: Display panel includes: a power supply unit that generates first power supply voltage and variable second power supply voltage; and first and second power supply lines that transmit the first and second power supply voltages, respectively, to light emitting elements. The power supply unit (i) includes: first and second input terminals; a switching control unit; an inductor having first terminal connected to the second power supply line; a first switch element that switches conduction/non-conduction between a second terminal of the inductor and the first input terminal; a second switch element that switches conduction/non-conduction between the second terminal and the second input terminal; a capacitor having first electrode to which constant voltage is applied; and a third switch element that switches conduction/non-conduction between the second terminal and a second electrode of the capacitor, and (ii) collects, into the capacitor, and regenerates power from parasitic capacitance of the second power supply line.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a display device driving method and the like that can suppress degradation of display quality at the time of switching to a video based on a video signal from an external signal source. The display device driving method according to the present disclosure includes: receiving a training signal transmitted from an external signal source; after receiving the training signal, transmitting a lock signal to the external signal source at a timing based on an internal synchronization signal of the display device; after transmitting the lock signal, receiving a video signal that is transmitted from the external signal source and is synchronous with an external synchronization signal; and displaying a video by using the video signal received from the external signal source.

    Abstract: Provided is an organic EL display panel manufacturing method. The organic EL display panel includes a plurality of semiconductor elements. The method includes: forming, on a planarization film formed above the semiconductor elements, lower electrodes in one-to-one correspondence with the pixels; forming an organic layer including a light-emitting layer on the lower electrodes; forming an upper electrode on the organic layer; detecting any of the lower electrodes that includes a defect; and forming, on the planarization film or any of the lower electrodes that includes a defect, a protrusion for connecting the lower electrode and the upper electrode.
