Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for managing information related to backup storage activities of data storage systems. In a computer system having one or more independent backup data storage systems coupled to each other and each serving one or more clients, a user may obtain information related to backup activities of any of the backup storage systems from a single location. Through a user interface associated with any of the backup storage systems, or through a stand alone user interface, a user may manage (e.g., organize, display, print) information related to backup activities of any or all of the backup storage systems. System administrators can design and store a variety of report formats that may be utilized by any user to display or print various parameters associated with backup activities in a particular manner. Report formats may be edited by users, and displayed parameters may be dynamically updated to provide for active monitoring of one or more backup storage systems. Additionally, periodic backup activity reports can be generated and automatically sent to designated locations, for example to one or more printers and/or to one or more designated recipients via E-mail.
Abstract:
A maintenance platform for use in a rolling radar array system has a base capable of accommodating at least one person. The base is movably coupled to a support frame, along which the base can move along the longitudinal axis of the support frame rails. The height of support frame is generally equal to the radius of the rolling radar array wheel. The maintenance platform is coupled to weight assembly such that the base of the platform will be in a generally horizontal orientation when the radar array wheel is stopped.

Abstract:
Various systems and methods for performing trapping in relation to three or more objects are disclosed. As one example, such methods may include receiving an identification of at least three objects and colors associated with the respective objects. In addition, an identification of a trap zone is received. The trap zone is associated with the aforementioned three objects. The methods further include performing a recursive trap where a color for application into at least a portion of the trap zone is identified. The identified color is selected based upon one or more of the colors associated with the respective objects related to the trap zone. Of course, other examples exist.
Abstract:
Various systems and methods for trapping in a publishing environment are disclosed. For example, a method for trapping in a printing process is disclosed and includes identifying two objects associated with the trap. One of the objects is a foreground object, and the other is a background object. A trap zone is created around at least one of the foreground and background objects, and a trap direction is determined based at least in part on an ink characteristic of an ink associated with a color of the background and/or foreground. The trap direction may include a choke, an overprinting, a spread, and/or a knockout.
Abstract:
The present invention comprises a method and apparatus for installing a stator core, or portions thereof, into a power generator frame 2 that comprises assembling the stator core inside of a container 60, and then moving the container to the power generator 1. The container 60 is horizontally aligned with the power generator 1, and the stator core is transferred from the container to the power generator.
Abstract:
A variable speed transmission having a plurality of tilting balls and opposing input and output discs is illustrated and described that provides an infinite number of speed combinations over its transmission ratio range. The use of a planetary gear set allows minimum speeds to be in reverse and the unique geometry of the transmission allows all of the power paths to be coaxial, thereby reducing overall size and complexity of the transmission in comparison to transmissions achieving similar transmission ratio ranges.
Abstract:
A continuously variable planetary gear set is described having a generally tubular idler, a plurality of balls distributed radially about the idler, each ball having a tiltable axis about which it rotates, a rotatable input disc positioned adjacent to the balls and in contact with each of the balls, a rotatable output disc positioned adjacent to the balls opposite the input disc and in contact with each of the balls such that each of the balls makes three-point contact with the input disc, the output disc and the idler, and a rotatable cage adapted to maintain the axial and radial position of each of the balls, wherein the axes of the balls are oriented by the axial position of the idler.
Abstract:
A mulch shield for surrounding a trunk or stem of a plant that may include a body having a bendable wall member, and a lower flange that is coupled to the body and which extends therefrom in a radially outward direction. A slit may be formed through both the wall member and the lower flange that permits the body to be positioned in a first, generally C-shaped condition that is adapted to permit the mulch shield to be placed about the trunk or stem of the plant, and a second condition in which the wall member encircles the trunk or stem of the plant. A closure may be employed to maintain the body in the second condition.
