    摘要: A constant velocity universal joint of an axle shaft assembly has a drive hub which receives a splined shaft in an extension which projects from a drive bell. The splined shaft is held in the drive hub in such a position that it can be pushed further into the drive hub after removal of a locking ring. This makes it possible to shorten the axle shaft assembly for the purpose of mounting by an additional amount in comparison to prior-art axle shaft assemblies.

    摘要: A constant velocity joint is provided with an outer part, in the inner surface of which tracks are provided, an inner part, on the outer surface of which corresponding tracks are provided, and with balls in a pivotable cage located in the space between the outer part and the inner part. Taking as a basis the particular axial displacement, caused by the torque, of the outer part and the inner part in relation to the cage, this displacement depending mainly on the amount of the respective axial clearances of the pairs of centering surfaces and/or on the brinelling of the window support surfaces by the balls in the running-in phase and also on the elastic flexibility of the parts, the running-in wear and the thermal expansion. The outer surface of the inner part and the inner surface of the cage or the inner surface of the outer part and the outer surface of the cage have clearance therebetween so that the inner or outer part is axial displaced relative to the cage, toward one side, whereby the tracks of the inner part do not run as mirror images to the tracks of the outer part in relation to the ball plane.

    摘要: A swivel joint for transmitting torque between a drive shaft and a driven shaft includes an outer joint member having an interior cavity connected with one of the shafts and an inner joint member carried within the cavity connected with the other shaft. A first plurality of ball receiving grooves are formed on the interior wall surface of the cavity and a second plurality of ball receiving grooves equal in number to the first plurality are formed on the exterior surface of the inner joint member. A ball is carried between at least one pair of corresponding ball receiving grooves of the first and second plurality of grooves for transmitting torque between the inner and outer joint members. A cage having circumferentially arranged window recesses is positioned between the inner and outer joint members and the balls are retained in the window recesses. A stop face is provided on the inside of the inner joint member and a cooperating bearing surface is provided on the cage for engaging the stop face at predetermined angular displacements of the inner joint member with respect to the outer joint member.
