Abstract:
Data and computation may be unified (i.e., integrated) in a data center using a single query interface. Users may interact with the data center via a query interface to provide a query (i.e., a computation) to the data center. The results of the query may be referred to as derived datasets and may be managed by a cache server. In an implementation, a derived dataset is uniquely referenced by the query that computes it. Shared common computations are computed only once and may be reused by other computations. The result of a query may be computed (if not previously cached) and returned to the user. Infrequently used derived datasets may be garbage collected (e.g., deleted or otherwise removed from storage) by a garbage collector. This integration of data and computation provides efficient resource management for data center.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for the preparation of fentanyl comprising: (a) reacting 4-piperidone hydrochloride (NPP) with aniline in presence of reducing environment to produce 4-anilinopiperidine (4-ANPP), (b) reacting the 4-ANPP as obtained from step (a) with phenethyl halide under reflux conditions in highly alkaline medium to give 4-anilino-N-phenethylpiperidine, and (c) converting the 4-anilino-N-phenethylpiperidine to fentanyl by reacting with propionyl chloride in presence of halogenated hydrocarbons, then isolating fentanyl by solvent extraction and purifying by crystallization from petroleum ether at a temperature ranging from 60-80° C.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method for the preparation of oligonucleotide microarrays obviating the drawbacks to an extent, such as time consuming complex chemical reactions, preparation of modified supports/oligomer modifying reagents, use of activating/condensing reagent, low signal to noise ratio, poor immobilization and hybridization efficiencies, etc. Further, the prepared arrays can be used to detect single or multiple nucleotide mismatches using hybridization assay.
Abstract:
A centrifugal pumps secondary seal is disposed between the pump housing cover (130) in the seal chamber and includes a rotatable annular slinger (440) axially disposed on the pump motor shaft for slinging water away from the motor shaft and a flange protector (300) with a drain (400, 430) for diverting and directing free liquid from the seal chamber and outside the motor and pump housing (130, 230), thereby preventing corrosion of the seal chamber components, such as the motor flange (230), drive shaft and other motor components, due to exposure to water.
Abstract:
A multi-cyclone sediment filter having a sediment bowl with a hemispherical bottom and a sump for collecting sediment, a cylindrical cyclone housing disposed above and sealingly connected to the sediment bowl, a removable and replaceable cyclone cartridge inserted into the cyclone housing, a diffuser plate sealingly connected to the cyclone cartridge and cyclone housing, a fluid inlet for introducing fluid into the cyclone housing, and a fluid outlet for discharging fluid from the cyclone housing. The cyclone cartridge inserted in the cyclone housing includes a plurality of vertically disposed inverted cone-shaped fluid cyclones, each having a small opening at a lower end and larger opening at an upper end. The cartridge has a plurality of fluid flow paths that direct fluid to the cyclones where a vortex is induced in the moving fluid. As sediment is removed from the fluid in each cyclone, it is separated out and delivered down into the sediment bowl sump, while fluid is directed upwardly and out to the fluid outlet.
Abstract:
Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to receive reports at a server node, the reports indicating a change in virtual machine status for virtual machines hosted on a virtual machine host node; and to allocate/de-allocate software licenses to the virtual machines based on the change in virtual machine status. In some embodiments, operations may include detecting, at a virtual machine host node, a change in virtual machine status for virtual machines hosted on the host node; and transmitting reports to a server node from the host node. The reports can be used to indicate the change in virtual machine status, enabling the server node to allocate/de-allocate software licenses to the virtual machines based on the change in virtual machine status. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.
Abstract:
A magnetic shield having non-magnetic gaps provides reduced magnetic cross-talk for a linear motor array in a precision positioning system. Redirecting the leakage flux limits the cross-talk and associated deleterious effects. Such preferred magnetic circuit paths for the leakage are affixed to the moving magnet system of the linear motor. Embodiments of the preferred flux leakage paths are realized by providing a ferromagnetic shield separated by a non-magnetic gap between the permanent magnets and the back-irons. In another embodiment, the ferromagnetic shield separation includes diamagnetic materials.
Abstract:
Techniques for enforcing access rights during directory access are presented. Access rights are maintained at the container level of a directory tree for container objects within a cache. When security is set for a requester of a target, the container object cache is directly accessed along with rights assigned to the target and the security is calculated and then set against the requester.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for virtual card transfer between near field communications (NFC)-enabled mobile devices. According to one aspect, a method for over-the-air (OTA) virtual card transfer between NFC-enabled mobile devices is disclosed. The method includes receiving, at an OTA provisioning server, a virtual card, from a sending mobile device, that is intended for a receiving mobile device. The virtual card is provisioned, over the air, to the receiving mobile device, where the virtual card is immediately presentable by the receiving mobile device at a point of sale terminal.
Abstract:
A circuit breaker closing actuator and a method of operation is provided. The closing actuator is disposed to communicate and receive signals from a trip unit. The trip unit includes a communications to transmit and receive data and signals from a remote location. The trip unit transmits a signal to the closing actuator in response to receiving a closing signal from the remote location. The closing actuator validates the signal and activates a driving circuit if the signal is validated. The driving circuit enables power to a solenoid that closes the circuit breaker.
