Abstract: A reduced capability (redcap) user equipment (UE) is configured to receive a positioning reference signal (PRS) configuration from a network component and perform one or more positioning operations based at least in part on the PRS configuration. A base station is configured to receive, from a location management function (LMF) of a network, a positioning reference signal (PRS) configuration for a reduced capability user equipment (redcap UE) and transmit PRS to the redcap UE based on the PRS configuration.

Abstract: A base station of a network configures a first search space having a first search space identification (SearchSpaceId) in a special cell (SpCell) and a second search space having a second search space identification (SearchSpaceId) in a secondary cell (SCell) for monitoring control signaling that schedules operations on the SpCell. The base station transmits a radio resource control (RRC) configuration to a user equipment (UE) including the first SSID and the second SSID, wherein the RRC configuration configures the UE to monitor the first search space having the first SSID for scheduling of a first type of control signaling and the second search space having the second SSID for scheduling of a second type of control signaling.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for configuring full power transmission modes in a UE. The disclosed full power transmission modes include a Mode 0 and a Mode 3, which are enhancements over previous modes disclosed in the 3GPP specification. The UE gathers supported modes and configuration capabilities, such as number of ports and supported coherency schemes, and forwards the configuration capabilities to the network. The network analyzes the received information and selects a supported full power transmission mode based on the UE capabilities. The selection is then transmitted to the UE in a PUSCH-Config message. The UE extracts the selection from the PUSCH-Config message, and configures its radio accordingly.

Abstract: Measurement resources are often limited in 5G and 4G-LTE communications. As a result, SMTC and CSI-RS measurement windows will occasionally be assigned to the same resource elements of a signal frame. This results in a collision that must be resolved, since both measurements cannot be performed simultaneously. The collision can be resolved using restriction, where overlapping resource elements are assigned to either the SMTC or the CSI-RS measurements, or can be resolved using measurement sharing, where overlapping resource elements are divided among the two measurements according to a measurement sharing factor. Various factors, including priority or window periodicity may be taken into account by the measurement rules that dictate collision resolution.

Abstract: Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for tracking reference signal (TRS) support of high speed use cases of 5G communications in a single frequency network (SFN), where a user equipment (UE) can measure a Doppler offset of a combined signal from two or more transmission reception points (TRPs) of the 5G communications system. A 5G node B (gNB) node can transmit a periodic, semi-persistent (SP), or aperiodic TRS with high measurement density that the UE uses to measure a Doppler offset of a combined signal. For example, the gNB can: trigger the aperiodic TRS based on a downlink assignment; and/or use lower layer signaling to arrange to transmit a semi-persistent TRS or a periodic TRS with a reduced periodicity. In some embodiments, the gNB can measure the Doppler offset based on an uplink signal, and transmit a TRS based on a pre-compensated Doppler frequency.

A number of repetitions associated with transmitting a random access response (RAR) over a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) may be determined in response to the RACH preamble. A transmission for the UE to be sent over a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) may be encoded. The transmission may indicate the number of repetitions to the UE using one or more reserved bits of a downlink control information (DCI).
