Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate successful decoding of Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) based on a reduced number of retransmissions. Based on a given PDSCH, embodiments discussed herein can communicate feedback (e.g., Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) feedback, Channel State Information (CSI) feedback) that indicates an amount of additional information that can allow a User Equipment (UE) to successfully decode the PDSCH. In some embodiments, the feedback can indicate a requested Redundancy Version (RV) sequence that can allow the UE to successfully decode the PDSCH. In other embodiments, the feedback can indicate the amount of additional information, based on which a receiving Base Station (BS) can select a RV sequence.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to performing cellular communication using a control information monitoring framework. A wireless device may monitor a control channel for control information according to a first periodic pattern. According to the first periodic pattern, the wireless device may monitor the control channel in a specified slot during each period of the first periodic pattern. Each period of the first periodic pattern may include multiple slots. The wireless device may receive control information during a first slot. The first slot may be a specified slot according to the first periodic pattern. The control information received during the first slot may schedule a data communication. The wireless device may monitor the control channel for control information in at least one slot that is not specified according to the first periodic pattern based at least in part on receiving control information during a specified slot according to the first periodic pattern.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may reside in a state of dual connectivity with a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG), wherein the radio access technologies of the MCG and the SCG are different. While in the dual connectivity state, the UE device may transition to a mode of reduced activity (e.g., processing and/or RF activity) relative to the secondary cell group (SCG) in order to save power, e.g., when traffic flow via the SCG is below a threshold, or when scheduling activity on the SCG is low. Various mechanisms may be employed to reduce activity, e.g., mechanisms such as reduction of beam monitoring, deactivation of secondary cells of the SCG, reduction of number of active antenna elements, employment of longer periods for periodic measurement and reporting processes, etc.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for utilizing a flexible slot indicator in wireless communication. A base station (BS) may establish communication with a first user equipment device (UE). The BS may determine a transmission direction for each of a plurality of symbols included in one or more slots. The BS may transmit a slot format indicator (SFI) to the UE. The SFI may indicate the transmission direction for each of the plurality of symbols included in one or more slots. The BS and the UE may perform communication during the one or more slots according to the determined transmission direction.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to performing beam failure recovery using a contention based random access procedure in a cellular communication system. A wireless device and a cellular base station may establish a cellular link. Beam configuration information indicating an active beam for downlink communications may be provided. The wireless device may detect beam failure for the active beam. The wireless device may perform a contention based random access procedure based at least in part on detecting beam failure for the active beam. An indication of the detected beam failure may be provided to the cellular base station by the wireless device as part of the contention based random access procedure.

A second set of techniques can facilitate configuration of the UE with independent DRX configurations for a first set of one or more Component Carriers (CCs) associated with a first frequency band of a supported band combination and for a second set of one or more CCs associated with a second frequency band of the supported band combination. Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a UE to determine a UL spatial relation for an UL transmission in response to an unknown UL spatial relation switch. The UE may determine whether the UL spatial relation is based on an SRS transmission in UL, a CSI-RS in DL, or an SSB in the DL. If the UL spatial relation is based on the SRS transmission, the UE may select the UL spatial relation for the UL transmission corresponding to a Tx beam of the SRS transmission. If the UL spatial relation is based on the CSI-RS or the SSB, the UE may select the UL spatial relation for the UL transmission based on whether the unknown UL spatial relation switch s due to a corresponding resource for beam training not being configured by a communication network or a corresponding beam information being expired.
