Abstract: A user equipment (UE) or other device performs service discovery of edge computing resources in a cellular network system and dynamic offloading of UE application tasks to discovered edge computing resources. As part of the discovery process, the device (e.g., the UE) may request edge server site capability information. When performing dynamic offloading, the UE may obtain (collect and/or receive) information regarding channel conditions, cellular network parameters or application requirements and dynamically determine whether a task of the application executing on the UE should be offloaded to an edge server or executed locally on the UE. In making decisions between offloaded or local execution, the UE may use a utility function that takes into account factors such as relative differences in application latency, energy consumption and offloading cost.

Abstract: The present application relates to improving a roaming service. In an example, a home network of a user equipment (UE) defines a first set of UE route selection policy (URSP) rules for managing traffic of the UE when connected to the home network. While roaming, the UE is connected to a visited network. Based on the first set of URSP rules and guidance information of the visited network indicating one or more URSP rules that the visited network can support for the UE, the home network defines a second set of URSP rules for managing traffic of the UE while roaming. The home network sends, via the visited network, the second set of URSP rules to the UE as rule information for use by the UE while connected to the visited network.

Abstract: The present application relates to improving coverage and reliability of cellular emergency service. In an example, a relay UE is authorized by a core network to provide a U2N relay for emergency services, where this authorization is based on UE capability information sent to the core network indicating the support of U2N relay emergency functionalities. During a U2N relay discovery, the relay UE indicates, to a remote UE, that this capability can be provided.
