Abstract: Certain examples for generating control data for production of a three-dimensional object are described. In one example, the three-dimensional object to be generated is represented using object model data and object property data. This data is processed to generate a rasterized representation of a plane of the three-dimensional object. The rasterized representation of the plane is then mapped to an area coverage representation defines object property data at a given location in the plane as one or more proportions of a set of available object properties at the location, for example material combinations. The area coverage representation is then halftoned to generate the control data for three-dimensional printing.

Abstract: In some examples, a system receives a color sample comprising a color measurement of a proper subset of a gamut of colors printable by a printer, and computes a forward transform value and a reverse transform value based on a color profile calculated from a profiling chart comprising a set of estimated color samples calculated based on the received color sample, the forward and reverse transform values to convert between colorimetry values and color values for the printer. The system provides an adjusted color profile for the printer based on an original color profile for the printer and the computing, wherein the original color profile for the printer is associated with a substrate.

Abstract: A method of color halftone processing is disclosed. A plurality of color mappings each provide a mapping from a color value in a color space to a set of Neugebauer Primary area coverage (NPac) values in an NPac space. An imaging metric is obtained for each NPac value in the set. An NPac value in the set is selected based on the imaging metric. The selected NPac value is used as an output NPac value in a combined color mapping for the color value.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for developing a color mapping for mapping colors from a source gamut to an output gamut are described. In an example, defects in a printed output image are used to identify a region of an initial output gamut associated with a defect. Abstract: In a method to generate a print specification color separation look-up table, a device color space is sampled to provide at least one sampled value. The sampled value is transformed to a device independent color space. The transformed sampled value is gamut mapped using a source color gamut and a color separation color gamut to provide a color separation value. The gamut mapping is performed in an expansion mode and a compression mode.

Abstract: A method for generating a color mapping for a printing apparatus is described. The printing apparatus includes a plurality of colorants including a first colorant configured to reflect radiation having a first set of wavelengths and a second colorant configured to absorb radiation having a second set of wavelengths and emit radiation having a third set of wavelengths. The method includes obtaining spectral characteristics for the plurality of colorants, computing a gamut of colors available to the printing apparatus and determining a color mapping from an input color space to an output color space.
