Abstract: Mobile devices may receive page transmissions that include information related to a service for which the mobile device is being paged. The mobile device may be provided with a policy that describes a priority of radio access technologies (RATs) based on the type of service for which the mobile device is being paged. The mobile device, based at least in part on the service information, may access one or more of the wireless communications networks based on the identified service and/or based on the policy. A page transmission may include an indication of a RAT that is to be used for the page response and/or an index into the policy. A base station that transmits a page transmission may include an identifier of a particular network that is to be accessed in response to the page.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to on-demand ultra-reliable, low-latency communication (URLLC) are provided. In one embodiment, a base station (BS) receives, from a user equipment (UE) in a first cell frequency, a request for a protocol data unit (PDU) session over a network slice. The BS receives, from a core network entity, a resource configuration request for the PDU session over the network slice. The BS transmits, to the core network entity, a resource configuration response indicating a cause for rejecting the resource configuration request. In one embodiment, a UE transmits, in a first cell frequency of a network, a network registration request message requesting a network slice of the network that is not provided by the first cell frequency. The UE receives a network registration response message indicating the network slice is allowed based on a second cell frequency of the network providing the network slice requested.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A public land mobile network (PLMN) may indicate to a user equipment (UE) which network slices are supported by available non-Third Generation Partnership Program (3GPP) interworking functions (N3IWF). The PLMN may provide, to the UE, non-3GPP access node (N3AN) selection information that indicates a set of N3IWFs and a set of supported network slices. The network slices may be indicated via Network Slice Simultaneous Registration Group (NSSRGs) associated with each N3IWF. If a UE is not configured to support NSSRGs, the PLMN may indicate network slices that may be used concurrently and may indicate one or more N3IWFs that support the indicated network slices. The UE may select an N3IWF based on one or more selected network slices. The UE may register with the N3IWF and connect to the N3AN based on an internet protocol address associated with the N3IWF.

In one example, an aerial user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a priority for cell selection for aerial UEs from each cell in a set of cells and may select a cell from the set of cells based on the priority of each cell in the set of cells. In another example, an aerial UE may connect to a network available to aerial UEs and non-aerial UEs for auxiliary communications, when appropriate. In yet another example, when an aerial UE transitions to a new mission status, the aerial UE may transmit a tracking area update (TAU) if the aerial UE is connected to a cell in a tracking area that does not support the new mission status. In yet another example, a base station may page an aerial UE based on a mission status of the aerial UE.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling slice information for a roaming user equipment (UE). In some cases, the UE may send, to a network entity, a request with an information element (IE) indicating one or more protocol data unit (PDU) sessions to be transferred from a source network to a target network. After receiving, from the network entity, a response with an IE identifying one or more of the PDU sessions allowed to be transferred to the target network and indicating slice information applicable in the target network for the one or more PDU sessions allowed to be transferred, the UE may update slice information for each of the PDU sessions allowed to be transferred based on the IE in the response.
