Abstract:
When a subject is imaged for the purpose of deciding the angle of view, the full image that is capable of being sensed by a CCD is displayed on an LCD. The user designates the position of a cropping area in the image being displayed. Only image data representing the image within the border of the designated area is recorded on a memory card. Since the amount of image data to be recorded on the memory card is thus reduced, image data representing images of a greater number of frames can be recorded on the memory card.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus including: a paper supply section; a transporting path for transporting a document supplied from the paper supply section; a first sensor which reads an image on a first surface of the document from one side of the transporting path; a second sensor which reads an image on a second surface of the document from the other side of the transporting path; and an image processing section which is constituted so as to correspond to a first reading mode in which two sides of the document are read using the first sensor plural times, and a second reading mode in which two sides of the document are read using the first sensor and the second sensor, and which makes a registration position and direction of an output image in both the first and second reading mode the same.
Abstract:
An information recording apparatus (S) is provided with: first format recording device (125) for recording an image information on a recording medium in first format; and second format recording device (125) for recording the image information on said recording medium in second format that is different from said first format.
Abstract:
Photography mode setting information is transferred by transmitting from a first digital camera certain photography mode setting information set in the first digital camera through a communications means, such as a USB cable, and receiving the photography mode setting information transmitted from the first digital camera with a second digital camera. Prior to this transfer, by way of the first digital camera or the second digital camera, the model type information of the other digital camera is obtained, and the photography mode setting information set in the first digital camera is changed (converted) so that the setting information is appropriate for the second digital camera.
Abstract:
A method of setting a web camera mode for a portable composite device is disclosed. In the portable composite device having an interface connectable with a personal computer and a zoom lens, the web camera mode setting method includes determining whether the present mode is a web camera mode in which the personal computer is connected to the interface and the device is used as a web camera, setting the zoom lens to a wide-angle mode on the basis of a preset value if the present mode is in the web camera mode, and providing an image signal corresponding to an image picked up by the zoom lens set to the wide-angle mode to the personal computer through the interface. According to the method, a user can directly use the portable composite device such as a camcorder as a web camera without any separate manipulation.
Abstract:
An image recording apparatus includes an image sensor. Image data of an object imaged by the image sensor is recorded on a recording medium to which an FAT system is adopted. A recording area of the recording medium is divided into a plurality of clusters, and available clusters can be dispersedly distributed. When formatting the recording medium, a CPU increases a cluster size as a capacity of the recording medium is larger, or the recordable number of frames of the recording medium is greater.
Abstract:
In a digital still camera, when the reproducing mode is selected, an indication to the effect that the operation is in standby for reproduction is displayed on an indicating device, and if the command dial is not operated until 16 seconds elapses after the indication has been started, the supply of source voltage to the various parts of the camera is stopped, to achieve a reduction in power consumption. If the command dial is operated within 16 seconds, image signals are output to an external monitor and also an indication to the effect that reproduction is in progress is displayed on the indicating device. If the command dial has been operated within three minutes after reproduction of a given photographic frame has been started, reproduction of the following frame is performed, but if the command dial has not been operated until the three minutes have elapsed, the indication to the effect that the operation is in standby for reproduction is displayed again. If the sensitivity changeover switch and the command dial are operated together during reproduction or standby for reproduction, the photographic frame to be reproduced is determined in correspondence to the quantity and direction of the rotation of the command dial and the frame number of the frame thus determined is displayed on the indicating device.
Abstract:
The voltage of batteries is detected, and a determination is made whether the detected voltage is less than the normal value. If the detected voltage is below the normal value, a determination is made whether a sound recording priority flag is on. If the sound recording priority mode has not been set, a low battery level warning sound is generated to indicate that the level of the battery is low. If a determination is made that the sound recording priority mode has been set, however, the battery level warning sound (or other various operating sounds of the camera) is not generated. As a result, noise is reduced because the battery level warning sound and/or other operating sounds are not recorded.
Abstract:
An electronic still camera comprises an image sensor which allows each of its horizontal lines to be individually specified so that a video signal contained in each specified horizontal line can be read, a storage circuit for storing the video signal read from the image sensor, a selecting circuit for selecting a high-speed continuous shooting mode, and a controlling circuit for executing, when the high-speed continuous shooting mode is selected by the selecting circuit, control to effect a high-speed reading for reading the video signal from the image sensor by thinning out the horizontal lines of the image sensor, and to cause the storage circuit to store video signals for a plurality of pictures obtained by the high-speed reading.
Abstract:
A CPU determines whether the intended use of the image data to be stored in a plurality of HDDs has a first-type purpose, which requires storing temporarily stored image data for carrying out output processing of the image data, or a second-type purpose, which requires long-term preservation of the image data. If the first-type intended use is determined, a first-type mode for saving is selected, wherein the image data to be stored are divided and each divided set of image data is stored into one HDD. If the second-type intended use is determined, a second-type mode for saving is selected, wherein the same image data part is saved in a plurality of storage means.
