A liquid crystal display having a thin film transistor substrate and a color filter substrate facing each other and a liquid crystal layer sealed between the substrates includes a first alignment film having a pattern which defines a first and second alignment domains on the thin film transistor substrate and a second alignment film formed on the color filter substrate.
Abstract:
Provided is a communication method of a terminal, including generating, based on a characteristic of an application executed by at least one terminal in a virtual group, a content request message to request content stored by one or more other terminals in the virtual group, and transmitting the content request message to an intermediate node managing the at least one terminal to receive the content stored by the one or more other terminals.
Abstract:
A server, terminal, and method for supporting mobility in a network are provided. A server includes a storage which stores a double chord lookup table including server search information based on identifiers and location information of terminals on a network, a controller which finds a server for providing an optimal routing path between a receiving terminal and a transmitting terminal for sending a packet to the receiving terminal, using the double chord lookup table, where a trigger including an identifier and location information for identifying the receiving terminal is received from the receiving terminal, and a communicator which reports the location of the found server to the receiving terminal and the transmitting terminal.
Abstract:
Provided is a method of generating a user-oriented virtual private community without the need for a server. The method includes generating a first virtual private community for a predetermined user including at least one communication device of the predetermined user.
Abstract:
Provided is a communication method of a hub that selects a transmission route from the hub to a receiving terminal of a receiving virtual group based on interface information about at least one interface which is available for use by the receiving terminal and is received from the receiving terminal and interface information about at least one interface which is available for use by a transmitting terminal of a transmitting virtual group and is received from the transmitting terminal.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a lateral flow quantitative assay method capable of quantitatively determining the concentration and analyzing the spatial distribution of a disease marker by employing the principle of the laser-induced fluorescence detection technique, which is based on detecting emitted fluorescence when laser light is focused to the disease marker deposited onto a lateral flow quantitative assay chip. The present invention discloses a strip, a laser-induced epifluorescence detection device and a small scanner for the assay method. The present assay method is advantageous in terms of allowing quantitative point-of-care diagnostics in hospitals, being capable of specifically detecting a disease marker by optimizing a lateral flow assay biochip for diagnosis of a specific disease, allowing more accurate quantitative analysis of analytes, and being capable of simultaneously analyzing several cancer markers, reducing the hook effect and expanding the detection range and accurately measuring concentration of analytes.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a system and method for reducing power consumption of a multi-mode terminal, which can decrease power consumption of a multi-mode terminal that supports mobile communication and wireless local area network (LAN) functions and increase efficiency of the wireless LAN function. To this end, power is cut off or a low-power state is maintained if a wireless LAN service is not used, and power is applied to a wireless LAN modem if a user requests or a call reception message is received through a mobile communication modem.
Abstract:
Provided are a network apparatus and system that may request or receive the same contents stored in a plurality of network apparatuses. In a network system sharing data, specific segments from a plurality of segments constituting the data may be received from mutually different terminals. For this, a transmission region may be determined by calculating a transmission offset corresponding to the plurality of terminals, and at least one segment included in the determined transmission region may be received from a corresponding terminal.
Abstract:
A 3D video coding apparatus and method which selectively codes video data from a plurality of video sources to include depth information. Coding may be performed by combining depth information with view information, such as RGB, YCrCb, or YUV, and coded together with the view information as, RGBD, YCrCbD or YUVD. An apparatus may selectively code the depth information based on a depth format flag to include no depth information (e.g. a 2D format) or include depth information as a chroma channel. The depth information may be coded separately or together with YCrCb based on a coding cost or rate distortion estimate to encode the video information to obtain the highest quality.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for rapidly extinguishing a fixed-wick oil stove by closing off an oil-supply tube when the oil stove is overturned or an earthquake occurs. More specifically, it relates to a device of this type which is formed using just a construction having no need for an electrical power source, which reduces costs, which entails no risk of breakdown, and which after the oil stove has been extinguished can straightforwardly be restored to the state prior to operation. The present invention is a fixed-wick oil burner which comprises: a hexahedral housing (40) provided on a support (10); a lever (50) which is supported in such a way as to be able to perform a seesaw movement on a floor plate (41b) of the housing (40), and which is provided with a resilient support member (53) between its under-surface at one end and the floor plate (41b), and which also has positioned, between its other end and the floor plate (41b), an oil-supply tube (22) formed of a heat-resistant flexible material; a weighting member (60) which is provided between an upper plate (41a) and one end of the lever (50) in such a way that a resilient member (61) is used to force face-to-face contact between facing parts, an upper weighting body (62a) and a lower weighting body (62b), and in such a way that the upper end of the upper weighting body (62a) and the lower end of the lower weighting body (62b) come into face-to-face contact with the upper plate (41a) and one end of the lever (50), and which is arranged in such a way that it gives way when a shock force of more than a certain value is transmitted to one or other of the upper and lower weighting bodies (62a) or (62b); and a restoring rod (70) which is connected to the lever (50), with a free end projecting outside the upper plate (41a).
