Abstract: A system for collecting data from multiple sensors at a central node is described. The system includes multiple pairs of sensor array multiplexers (SAMs) and sensors connected in series along the length of two cables each having a twisted wire pair. A first end of the length of the two cables is connected to the central node for receiving data from each of the multiple pairs. The multiple pairs include sensors of at least two different types, which may have different sampling rates. The first cable carries timing data between the multiple pairs and the central node and the second cable carries sensor data between the multiple pairs and the central node.

Abstract: A process for selecting an optimal individual user solution including an optimal rate allocation and associated price for a predetermined bandwidth of cellular network resources includes application of an iterative process and selection from multiple proposed user solutions. The inputs to the iterative process include at least an initial user bid, an initial network rate allocation, a generated user utility function and the cost data. The user utility function includes multiple application user functions. Optimal solution selection includes comparing each multiple proposed user rate allocation with the initial network rate allocation for the user and selecting the closest multiple proposed user rate allocation to the initial network rate allocation. The process may be applied to aggregated cellular carrier scenarios.

Abstract: A system and process scans a target area at a distance of 3-30 m for one or more materials. Scanning is performed by a coherent transmit beam aimed with the help of a thermal camera. The active source of the beam is a supercontinuum (SC) laser. The transmitted source beam is modulated by a high-speed Fourier-transform spectrometer prior to interaction with the target. Target reflected source beam is detected by an infrared detector, along with a reference portion of the transmitted source beam, as a series of interferograms; passed through a digitizer for digitizing the interferograms; and processed to producing spectrograms, wherein the spectrograms are indicative of one or more materials on the target.

Abstract: A system and method for learning and asserting what portions of a utility GIS network model are incorrect or flawed as they relate to real world conditions, and what the correct real world relationships are in the field is described. The system and method leverage available smart grid data to assess the quality of a primary (GIS) source data set; quality data renders derived analyzes across the utility valid, sound, and action worthy. The system and method utilize existing partially correct electrical network distribution model data and various non-specialized source data including smart meter, spatial, and customer information data collected from the network to test, validate and suggest corrections to the connectivity model. By forming putative ground truth assignments between utility components, the system tests the assumptions by examining the geospatial proximity and correlating voltage and event data over time to form refined hypothesis. These hypotheses are compared to the existing model and statistical tests are performed at a variety of confidence levels to propose a corrected network model to the user.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method are disclosed for performing engineering review of energy consumption by one or more equipment. One or more computers are connected to a specifications database. The computers are configured to receive end-user configurations corresponding to first equipment; retrieve one or more second equipment, as well as second equipment specifications from the specifications database; calculate an invoicing statement for the second equipment; and provide an engineering review report of the energy savings realized by implementing the second equipment. The first equipment may be an existing equipment, while the second equipment is one or more energy-efficient replacement alternatives to the first equipment. Each step is performed in real-time, using automated software modules and sub-modules. The engineering review report is applicable as an instant approval or pre-approval, qualifying the end-user for purchase incentives, which apply when the energy-efficient equipment alternatives are adopted by the end-user.

Abstract: A Geiger-Mueller charge particle rate measurement system includes a clock management unit in combination with multiple oscillators and rate feedback controller to allow for reactive switching between the different oscillator frequencies to optimize system use. Controlling the clock management unit to send the appropriate frequency (clock signal) to the timers in response to measured rate date from the rate feedback controller facilitates operation at different clock speeds, which helps reduce power consumption when operated at lower speeds.
