    Abstract: A heat dissipation assembly includes a bottom plate, an outer cover, a heat guiding base, a flow-acceleration unit and two side cover sets. The bottom loads a heat-generating source. The outer cover includes a cover body and two slots. The cover body covers the bottom plate to define an accommodation space therebetween, and the slots are oppositely formed on the cover body and connected to the accommodation space. The heat guiding base thermally contacts the heat-generating source and the cover body, and is formed with voids arranged alongside, each of the voids is communication with the slots respectively. The side cover sets are disposed within the slots, respectively, and detachably connected to the cover body and the heat guiding base. The flow-acceleration unit is disposed in one of the side cover sets to lead a fluid to the other through the voids.

    Abstract: A baseboard management controller (BMC) carrier module that contains a BMC carrier bracket and a thumb screw is disclosed. The BMC carrier bracket has a back plate, a top plate, a side plate, and a corner plate. The corner plate includes a first section and a second section. The second section of the corner plate extends perpendicularly from the first section of the corner plate. The BMC carrier bracket is configured to receive a BMC board between the first section of the corner plate and the side plate. The BMC board includes an aperture to receive a screw to secure the BMC board to the BMC carrier bracket, at a distance from the back plate. The thumb screw is coupled to the second section of the corner plate of the BMC carrier bracket, and is configured to bias a memory carrier module against the side plate.

    Abstract: A system and method for booting a computer system is disclosed. Code is loaded from a minor BIOS image stored on an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) to a cache of a central processing unit. The central processing unit executes the code from the minor BIOS image to initialize a system memory. A major BIOS image is accessed from a remote site via a controller. Code from the major BIOS image is loaded to the system memory. The code from the major BIOS image is executed via the central processing unit to boot an operating system.

    Abstract: A method for eliminating a ring effect is provided. The method includes: capturing, by a camera, a standard ring image generated by light illuminating a standard Fresnel lens; establishing a compensation lookup table according to the standard ring image and obtaining a standard ring center point; capturing, by the camera, a ring image generated by the light illuminating a Fresnel lens to be tested; obtaining a ring center point according to the ring image; obtaining a conversion relationship between the ring center point and the standard ring center point; and performing a compensation procedure on the ring image according to the compensation lookup table and the conversion relationship to eliminate the ring effect in the ring image.

    Abstract: An electronic device includes a power button, a fingerprint sensor, and a controller. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button. The controller connects to the fingerprint sensor and the power button. The controller performs a booting process of the electronic device when the power button is pushed by an external object. The controller then compares the fingerprint pattern of the external object sensed by the fingerprint sensor with a previously stored fingerprint pattern. If the fingerprint pattern does not match the previously stored fingerprint pattern, the controller stops the booting process.

    Abstract: An external air baffle nozzle has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a pair of sidewalls separating the top surface from the bottom surface. An end of the pair of sidewalls, an end of the top surface and an end of the bottom surface define an inlet. An opposite end of the pair of sidewalls, an opposite end of the top surface, and an opposite end of the bottom surface define an outlet. The outlet has a smaller cross section than a cross section of the inlet.
