    Abstract: A velocity string for increasing fluid velocity in a production tubing (1) of a wet natural gas production well is configured downhole by:—inserting components (5) for configuring an annular liner (4) into the production tubing (1); and—clustering the components together in an annular space (9) adjacent to an inner surface of the production tubing (1) to configure the annular liner (4) in a cost effective manner without requiring killing the well with a high density liquid, expensive hoisting and/or other workover equipment and materials required to install conventional corrosion resistant steel velocity strings.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing a residual base oil from a hydrocarbon feed which is derived from a Fischer-Tropsch process, the process comprises the steps of: (a) providing a hydrocarbon feed which is derived from a Fischer-Tropsch process; (b) subjecting the hydrocarbon feed of step (a) to a hydrocracking/hydroisomerisation step to obtain an at least partially isomerised product; (c) separating at least part of the at least partially isomerised product as obtained in step (b) into one or more lower boiling fractions and a hydrowax residue fraction; (d) catalytic dewaxing of the hydrowax residue fraction of step (c) to obtain a highly isomerised product; (e) separating the highly isomerised product of step (d) into one or more light fractions and a isomerised residual fraction; (f) mixing of the isomerised residual fraction of step (e) with a diluent to obtain a diluted isomerised residual fraction; (g) cooling the diluted isomerised residual fraction of step (f) to a temperature between 0° C. and −60° C.; (i) subjecting the mixture of step (g) to a centrifuging step at a temperature between 0° C. and −60° C. to isolate the wax from the diluted isomerised residual fraction; (j) separating the diluent from the diluted isomerised residual fraction to obtain a residual base oil.

    Abstract: A gasification system for the oxidation of a carbonaceous feedstock to provide a synthesis gas comprising: a reactor chamber for oxidizing the carbonaceous feedstock; a quench section for holding a bath of liquid coolant; an intermediate section having a reactor outlet opening through which the synthesis gas is conducted from the reactor chamber into the bath of the quench section; at least one layer of refractory bricks arranged on the reactor chamber floor, the lower end section of the refractory brick enclosing the reactor outlet opening and defining the inner diameter thereof; the intermediate section including a number of halved tubes for liquid coolant arranged onto at least part of the reactor chamber floor on a side thereof opposite to the lower end section of the refractory bricks; and a pump system for circulating the liquid coolant through the halved tubes on the reactor chamber floor.

    Abstract: The invention provides a reaction system for the production of ethylene carbonate and/or ethylene glycol. The reaction system having a guard bed system upstream of a catalytic EO reactor. The guard bed system having a feed line supplying a gaseous feed and an effluent line configured to remove the treated gaseous feed. The guard bed system has two or more guard bed vessels arranged in series in sequential order, each having an inlet, a bed of guard bed material and an outlet. The inlet of each guard bed vessel is attached by means of valves to both the feed line and the outlet of the guard bed vessel preceding it in sequential order. The outlet of each guard bed vessel is attached by means of valves to both the effluent line and to the inlet of the guard bed vessel following it in sequential order.

    Abstract: A method of inspecting a length of pipe having a pipe wall and a nominal inner diameter, comprising providing an inspection pig configured for passing along the length of pipe, wherein the inspection pig is provided with a substantially circumferential inside-out capacitance tomography sensor arrangement having a diameter smaller than the nominal inner diameter; passing the inspection pig along the length of pipe thereby defining an annular space between the sensor arrangement and the pipe wall; conducting measurements using the sensor arrangement at a plurality of locations along the length of pipe, and deriving, for each of the plurality of locations, information about an interface surrounding the inspection pig from the measurements.     Abstract: A process for producing liquid hydrocarbon products from a biomass-containing feedstock and/or a biomass-derived feedstock is provided. The process comprises: a) contacting the feedstock with a hydropyrolysis catalyst composition and molecular hydrogen in a hydropyrolysis reactor vessel to produce a product stream comprising a partially deoxygenated hydrocarbon product, H2O, H2, CO2, CO, C1-C3 gases, char and catalyst fines; b) removing char and catalyst fines from said product stream; c) cooling the remaining product stream to a temperature in the range of from 150 to 400° C.; and d) hydroconverting said partially deoxygenated hydrocarbon product in a hydroconversion reactor in the presence of one or more catalyst compositions suitable for hydrodeoxygenation and aromatic saturation of the partially deoxygenated hydrocarbon product in the presence of H2O, CO2, CO, H2, and C1-C3 gas generated in step a), to produce a vapour phase product comprising a C4+ hydrocarbon product.
