Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for random access channel communications in non-terrestrial networks. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble to the network entity in a random access (RA) occasion; and monitoring for a random access response (RAR) within a RAR window with a start position determined based at least in part on the RA occasion, round trip time parameters for non-terrestrial network communications, and one or more timing offset parameters.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to joint-carrier scheduling using a single downlink control information (DCI) signal. The user equipment (UE) receives from a base station (BS) of a first serving cell, a downlink control information (DCI) that indicates a joint-carrier scheduling scheme. Using the joint-carrier scheduling scheme in the DCI, the UE schedules first data for communication on a first shared channel associated with the first serving cell and second data for communication on a second shared channel associated with a second serving cell.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication that indicates whether a common search space (CSS) is associated with a first type of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) or a second type of PDCCH. The first type of PDCCH may correspond to a cell-broadcast PDCCH and the second type of PDCCH may correspond to a UE-specific PDCCH. The CSS may be for downlink control information (DCI) with a cyclic redundancy check scrambled by a group radio network temporary identifier (G-RNTI) that schedules a multicast and broadcast service (MBS). The UE may receive, from the base station, the first type of PDCCH or the second type of PDCCH. Numerous other aspects are described.
