Abstract: A network management function of a relay network may identify relay node support of multi-mobile terminal (MT) operation, and may coordinate configuration of multiple backhaul links supported by the relay node via the multi-MT functionality of the relay node. In some cases, a relay node may transmit MT capabilities to the management function over a first established backhaul link, and the management function may configure a second backhaul link using a second MT function of the relay node. In other cases, the relay node may autonomously establish multi-MT connectivity based on preconfigured parent-selection policies, and the network management function may identify the relay node is dual-connected to the network management function. In either case, the network management function may configure backhaul routes (e.g., backhaul links) and resource configuration across the redundant topology.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless node may determine a first communication configuration for another wireless node. The wireless node may determine a second communication configuration, for the other wireless node, that is different from the first communication configuration, wherein the first communication configuration is a first timing reference and the second communication configuration is a second timing reference that is different from the first timing reference. The wireless node may communicate, with the other wireless node on a downlink, on an uplink, or on a sidelink, using the first communication configuration and the second communication configuration. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information for a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure, wherein the configuration information identifies a plurality of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) configurations for a PUSCH of the two-step RACH procedure; and transmit the PUSCH in accordance with a PUSCH configuration, of the plurality of PUSCH configurations, wherein the PUSCH configuration is selected based at least in part on a size of a payload of the PUSCH, and wherein a preamble of the PUSCH is used to indicate the selected PUSCH configuration. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for multiple random access channel (RACH) message 1 (Msg1) transmission for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) ordered RACH are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform the multiple Msg1 transmission as part of a CFRA or CBRA procedure for access. The UE may perform the multiple Msg1 transmissions in a cyclic consecutive manner during configured RACH occasions or according to explicit time and frequency indications of a random access response (RAR) window. Based on the multiple Msg1 transmission procedure, the UE may reduce latency for random access procedure on the RACH and improve signaling throughput. In some cases, the UE may support beam correspondence and may perform multiple Msg1 transmissions to enhance multi-beam diversity during RACH transmission by performing transmission corresponding to RACH occasions mapped to different synchronization signal blocks (SSBs).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless systems, a base station centralized unit (CU) may communicate with a user equipment (UE) through a multi-hop backhaul architecture. This multi-hop backhaul connection may include a donor base station and any number of relay base stations connected via backhaul links. In some cases, the relay base stations or the UE may experience data congestion in a logical channel-specific buffer. The relay base stations or UE may implement backpressure signaling (e.g., in the medium access control (MAC) layer) to mitigate the congestion. A wireless device operating as a mobile termination (MT) endpoint may transmit a backpressure report message to a wireless device operating as a base station distributed unit (DU) endpoint for the logical channel. The base station DU may adjust a scheduling rate for data unit transmissions over the indicated logical channel based on the backpressure report.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) messages to a user equipment (UE). A DCI message may be transmitted using a particular DCI format based on the type of control information included in the DCI message. In some cases, different types of control information may be transmitted using the same DCI format. In such cases, one or more bit fields in a DCI format may be useful to a UE for one type of control information but may not be useful to a UE for another type of control information. As described herein, in order to limit the overhead associated with control information transmissions, a base station may support techniques for utilizing these bit fields in a DCI format to transmit information corresponding to the type of control information being transmitted.
