    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a fallback retransmission for a sidelink. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring a transmission from a node. The UE can determine that the transmission was not successfully decoded. The UE can send a feedback message to the node indicating that the transmission was not successfully decoded. The feedback message can also include an indication of whether the node or a base station (BS) retransmits the transmission. The node retransmits the transmission or indicates to the BS to retransmit based on the feedback message. The BS can configure the node, the UE, or both with one or more thresholds for determining whether the node or the BS retransmits the transmission.

    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating indicating cancelation of transmissions of sidelink messages are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a sidelink device includes transmitting SCI reserving a set of resources for one or more retransmissions of a message, the set of resources identifying one or more reserved resources in a time domain. The example method also includes identifying a skipped transmission associated with one or more of the set of resources reserved by the sidelink device. Additionally, the example method includes transmitting a cancelation indication indicating the skipped transmission, the cancelation indication indicating that the skipped transmission corresponds to a previous reserved resource in the time domain, a current reserved resource in the time domain, or a future reserved resource in the time domain.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a first user equipment (UE) identifies a trigger condition associated with a first communication link with a base station and establishes a second communication link with a second UE. The UE may transmit a relay request to the second UE based on the trigger condition, wherein the relay request instructs the second UE to relay communications for the first UE. The first UE communicates with the base station via the second communication link. In another example, a base station establishes communication links with a first and second UE. The base station receives a data forwarding request that instructs the base station to use the second UE to relay communications between it and the first UE. The base station communicates with the first UE via the second communication link based at least in part on the relay request.

    Abstract: Systems and methods configured for supporting multi-hop communications are described. Embodiments provide unavailable packet signaling by a base station aiding a multi-hop communication link. For example, the base station may transmit a predetermined “unavailable” message (e.g., an explicit and affirmatively transmitted message having predetermined content and/or format transmitted according to the schedule of the failed message) when an uplink data transmission in a multi-hop communication link fails or is otherwise currently unavailable. The unavailable packet signaling may be provided in association with a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) and control channel scheduled retransmission technique, such as for supporting Internet of things (IoT), such as industrial Internet of things (IIoT), traffic. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may determine a first sidelink pathloss based at least in part on a first sidelink reference signal from a second UE. The first UE may also determine a second sidelink pathloss based at least in part on a second sidelink reference signal received from a third UE. The first UE may transmit, during a transmission time interval, a first sidelink transmission to the second UE using a first transmit power that is based at least in part on the first sidelink pathloss and a second sidelink transmission to the third UE using a second transmit power that is based at least in part on the second sidelink pathloss. The first sidelink transmission may be transmitted at a first frequency and the second sidelink transmission may be transmitted at a second frequency.

    Abstract: Systems, apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media that enable and support backward cancellation indication for sidelink transmissions are described. In a situation where a sidelink data transmission with respect to one or more resources previously reserved for sidelink communication is ineffectual, a sidelink transmission user equipment (UE) may indicate the ineffectual data transmission in a transmission opportunity subsequent to the transmission having an ineffectual data transmission, such as by transmitting a backward cancellation indication (BCI). The BCI may provide information to a corresponding sidelink receiver UE regarding the resource with respect to the ineffectual data transmission. The sidelink receiver UE may use information provided by the BCI in determining whether to alter utilization of signals received on resources of the ineffectual data transmission. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication utilizing a data channel search space for initial data transmissions and retransmissions are described. In one aspect, a base station may configure a data channel search space and a plurality of monitoring occasions for a wireless device. The data channel search space may include a plurality of sets of decoding candidates on which the wireless device may receive data transmissions from the base station. At least one of a frequency location, a resource size, or a modulation and coding scheme can vary between different sets of decoding candidates. The wireless device performs blind decoding in its data channel search space to communicate with the base station.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One or more user equipments (UEs) may support reserved resource indications for sidelink systems. In some examples, a first UE may transmit a first sidelink control message to at least a second UE in a first transmission time interval (TTI), which may schedule a first set of time-frequency resources for a sidelink message. The first UE may transmit the sidelink message to the second UE using the first set of time frequency resources. After transmitting the sidelink message, the first UE may transmit a second sidelink control message to the second UE in a second TTI, which may indicate the first set of time-frequency resources used for transmission of the sidelink message. In some examples, the second UE may perform a decoding procedure for the sidelink message based on the second sidelink control message.
