Abstract: Present disclosure relates to a method and a UE for releasing PDU session. The UE identifies that the UE is in a restricted service area. Upon identifying that the UE is in the restricted service area, the UE releases PTI allocated by the UE and performs a local release of the PDU session. Further, the UE provides, to a network, information related to the PDU session, based on a subsequent trigger of a registration procedure.

In an embodiment, a method, for managing an Authentication and Key Management for Applications (AKMA) service for a User Equipment (UE) in a communication system is disclosed. The method includes determining, by a network function, that the UE is not allowed to utilize the AKMA service, in response to detecting at least one condition associated with the UE. The method includes transmitting, by the network function, a request to an AKMA Anchor Function (AAnF) for deleting an AKMA context corresponding to the UE from a memory associated with the AAnF. The method includes deleting, by the AAnF, the AKMA context corresponding to the UE from the memory.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and a system for Non-3GPP Interworking Function (N3IWF) selection in a UE for network connectivity. The method comprising receiving, by the UE associated with the system, a configuration message from an AMF in a network. Thereafter, the method comprising configuring each of a plurality of N3IWF identifiers and associated at least one S-NSSAI present in the configuration message, wherein the each of the plurality of N3IWF identifiers is an IP address or a FQDN. Subsequently, the method comprising selecting a N3IWF identifier from the plurality of N3IWF identifiers based on a user selection of a S-NSSAI associated with the N3IWF identifier for the network connectivity. The present disclosure makes user aware of the different N3IWFs available in the network, which allows user to select right N3IWF, and hence, the services the user wants to utilize while connecting via non-3 GPP network.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide methods and systems for performing paging operation in 5G communication networks. The 5G core network can transmit a NAS message to a UE through a N3GPP access network, if the UE is reachable through the N3GPP access network. The NAS message can be sent by the 5G core network to the N3IWF. The N3IWF can send the NAS message to the UE, through the N3GPP access network. The UE can send a service request over 3GPP access, in response to the NAS message, to the 5G core network, through a 5G RAN. If the UE is not having access to the 5G RAN, then the UE can transmit a notification response message to the 5G core network, indicating the inability to transmit a service request. The transmission of NAS message through the N3IWF can lead to a significant saving of radio resources.

Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose methods for handling operation of a UE during a disaster situation by the UE. The method includes initiating a wait timer upon selecting a forbidden public land mobile network (FPLMN) to receive a disaster roaming service. Further, the method includes determining whether at least one of: a MS is registered via a non-3GPP access or 3GPP access to another allowable PLMN, the FPLMN has stopped broadcasting a disaster related indication, and the FPLMN has stopped broadcasting the PLMN with the disaster condition. Further, the method includes stopping the wait timer and performing a PLMN selection procedure based on the determination. The provided method optimizes the operations in disaster situations.

Further, the method includes sending, by the ECS (116), at least one notification to the at least one target EES (114B).
