Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling permissions of a UE for accessing a network. A method disclosed herein includes initiating, by a User Equipment (UE), a registration procedure with a serving network for accessing a selected network, wherein the selected network includes one of at least one CAG cell of an NPN and a VPLMN. The registration procedure indicates a network selection mode using which the UE has selected the network and the network selection mode includes one of an automatic mode and a manual mode. The method further incudes determining, by the serving network, a reject mode for rejecting the registration request of the UE based on the network selection mode indicated in the registration request, when the permissions of the UE to access the selected network have not been verified, wherein the reject mode includes a protected reject mode and an unprotected reject mode.

Abstract: A method for managing a Closed Access Group (CAG) feature using an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) server. The method includes receiving a registration request message from a User Equipment (UE) for registering for a CAG subscription. The method includes determining that the UE is subscribed to access the network through a CAG cell only. The method includes determining whether the registration request message includes a CAG support indicator. The method includes determining whether the UE supports the CAG feature based on the CAG support indicator. The method includes sending either a registration accept message including a CAG information list to the UE when the UE supports the CAG feature, or a registration reject message including a 5GMM cause value other than a 5GMM cause #76 to the UE when the UE does not support the CAG feature.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and a system for Non-3GPP Interworking Function (N3IWF) selection in a UE for network connectivity. The method comprising receiving, by the UE associated with the system, a configuration message from an AMF in a network. Thereafter, the method comprising configuring each of a plurality of N3IWF identifiers and associated at least one S-NSSAI present in the configuration message, wherein the each of the plurality of N3IWF identifiers is an IP address or a FQDN. Subsequently, the method comprising selecting a N3IWF identifier from the plurality of N3IWF identifiers based on a user selection of a S-NSSAI associated with the N3IWF identifier for the network connectivity. The present disclosure makes user aware of the different N3IWFs available in the network, which allows user to select right N3IWF, and hence, the services the user wants to utilize while connecting via non-3 GPP network.
