Abstract: A method of handling an ongoing call performed by a UE in a wireless network is provided. The method includes initiating a voice over long term evolution (VoLTE) call in a 4th generation (4G) network, detecting that a 5th generation (5G) network entity has configured an inter radio access technology (I-RAT) measurement indicating a change from the 4G network to a 5G network based on identification of the 5G network by the UE, determining whether at least one of the UE or the 5G network does not support a voice over new radio (VoNR) call with a 5G cell in the 5G network, and performing one of delaying sending a measurement report until the VoLTE call is completed in response to determining that the at least one of the UE or the 5G network does not support the VoNR call, or sending the measurement report immediately for the 5G cell in response to determining that both the UE and the 5G network support the VoNR call.

Embodiments herein provide a method for providing voice call and data service simultaneously on plurality of SIM in EN-DC capable UE. The method includes registering a first SIM to a first network in a DCNR supported mode using a T1 and registering a second SIM to a second network in the DCNR not supported mode using a T2. The method also includes determining a 4G bearer is established on the T1 and a 5G bearer is established on the T2 by the first network using the first SIM. Further, the method also includes determining the voice call is being initiated on the second SIM when the data service is active on the first SIM through the T1 and the T2; and configuring the second SIM to provide the voice call over the T2 and the first SIM to provide the data services over the T1.-

The MM core network entity processes the received NAS message and the indication data. The MM core network entity determines status of network congestion upon processing the processed NAS message. Sending, by the MM core network entity, a response to the UE based on at least one of the processed indication data and the determined network congestion.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide methods and systems for performing paging operation in 5G communication networks. The 5G core network can transmit a NAS message to a UE through a N3GPP access network, if the UE is reachable through the N3GPP access network. The NAS message can be sent by the 5G core network to the N3IWF. The N3IWF can send the NAS message to the UE, through the N3GPP access network. The UE can send a service request over 3GPP access, in response to the NAS message, to the 5G core network, through a 5G RAN. If the UE is not having access to the 5G RAN, then the UE can transmit a notification response message to the 5G core network, indicating the inability to transmit a service request. The transmission of NAS message through the N3IWF can lead to a significant saving of radio resources.
