Abstract:
A method of operating a printing device for rendering data encoded in a raster form includes receiving by short range wireless communication an intermediate data which includes image data corresponding to at least part of the content and extracting the image data from the intermediate data. The image data is converted to data in a page description language form, and the data in the page description language is converted to the raster form rendered by a printer engine. The data in the raster form is supplied to the printer engine.
Abstract:
An information system for communication between a digital camera and bidirectional device that is located in proximity to a photographic site is disclosed. In the absence of the digital camera, the bidirectional device may provide communication with a personal digital communication device (PDCD) carried by the photographer. The digital camera may transmit preferences and camera data to the bidirectional device so that customized information, prepared by an information provider, may be automatically transmitted to the digital camera or PDCD or, via the Internet, to the photographer's e-mail address. A standardized photographic identification data packet (PIDDP) may be defined for use by the digital camera or the PDCD, for communication with the bidirectional device. The PIDDP may be transmitted by means of radio frequency, infrared, Bluetooth enabled transmission, or any other transmission method. The information system is implemented by a method for automatically recording information related to a photograph into the communication device in a digital camera or PDCD.
Abstract:
An information processing device of the present invention can be connected to a plurality of external devices by daisy chain format. The external device is provided with DPRAM (Dual Port RAM) and is capable of being connected not only with the information processing device, but also with another external device. DPPRM has an up-load area and an down-load area. DPRAM is able to transfer data in both directions as it is connected with the information processing device and other external devices by duplex bus. One device obtains permission to use DPRAM, writes in a specific address and generates an interrupt signal to the other device. The other device that detected the interrupt signal processes the data referring to DPRAM and transfers the data by releasing the permission to use DPRAM.
Abstract:
In a system in which communication between an information processing apparatus and a printing apparatus is possible, the information processing apparatus detects that communication with the printing apparatus has become possible and, in response to detection that such communication has become possible, generates print data based upon data that the information processing apparatus is displaying on a display unit connected to or built in the information processing apparatus, and transfers the generated print data to the printing apparatus. The printing apparatus prints the data received from the information processing apparatus.
Abstract:
A control method of an information processing device that communicates with a communication device includes accepting a connection processing instruction to connect the communication device with at least one external device, and performing processing to execute newly, in a case that the connection processing instruction is accepted and the communication device is not connected to any external device, the connection processing.
Abstract:
A device for capturing rendered text is described. The device incorporates one or more visual sensors that receive visual information as a part of capturing rendered text. The visual sensors are collectively capable of capturing both text that is permanently printed on a page, and text that is displayed transitorily on a dynamic device. The device further incorporates a visual information disposition subsystem for disposing of visual information received by the visual sensors. The device further incorporates a package that bears the visual sensors and the visual information disposition subsystem, and is suitable to be held in a human hand.
Abstract:
A system and method for multifunction peripheral data collection includes a network data connection with one or more multifunction peripherals and at least one peer data collector. A memory stores address data identifying each of a set of multifunction peripherals tasked for data collection. A processor initiates data transfer sessions in accordance with stored address data with each of the plurality of multifunction peripherals to retrieve device report data. Device report data from each successful data transfer session is retrieved and each device with an unsuccessful data transfer session is identified. A collection report is generated from retrieved device report data and this report is sent to an associated networked server. A generated problem list is sent to at least one other one networked device for further data collection and processing.
Abstract:
A document camera which operates with electric power supplied via a USB cable includes: an image pickup unit which picks up an image of a subject via a lens; a light source unit which emits light toward the subject; a drive unit which drives the lens; a detection unit which detects an amount of current supplied via the USB cable; and a control unit which controls an operation of the light source unit and the drive unit according to the amount of current detected by the detection unit.
Abstract:
A portable terminal has a memory having a program stored thereon and readably by a computer. The program causes the portable terminal to perform searching an image processing apparatus capable of executing an image processing operation by a first method, determining whether the image processing apparatus is detected in the searching by the first method, searching the image processing apparatus by a second method in a case where it is determined that the image processing apparatus is not detected as a result of the searching by the first method, storing apparatus information for identifying the image processing apparatus detected in the searching by the first method or the searching by the second method, and transmitting operation instruction information for instructing execution of the image processing operation to the image processing apparatus identified with the designated apparatus information stored.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus is provided that includes a controller configured to control a communication device to transmit, to an information processing terminal device, image processing information indicating a specific one of image processing operations that has been selected at a time when the controller starts establishment of communication with the information processing terminal device, control the communication device to receive execution instructing information from the information processing terminal device, and control a specific one of image processing executing devices that corresponds to the received execution instructing information to execute the specific image processing operation in accordance with the received execution instructing information.
