    Abstract: A plurality of vehicular electrochromic mirror reflective elements includes first and second vehicular electrochromic mirror reflective elements, each having a respective planar rear glass shaped substrate and a respective planar front glass substrate. The planar front glass shaped substrates are cut out from a planar glass sheet. Each planar rear glass shaped substrate is joined with a respective planar front glass substrate portion of the planar glass sheet via a respective perimeter seal. With the planar rear glass shaped substrate joined with the planar front glass shaped substrate, the circumferential perimeter cut edge of the planar front glass shaped substrate and the circumferential perimeter cut edge of the planar rear glass shaped substrate are processed to provide a circumferential rounded perimeter edge of the respective vehicular electrochromic mirror reflective element having a radius of curvature of at least 2.5 mm.

    Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a base portion configured for attachment at a side of a vehicle, and a mirror head having a mirror reflective element and an electrically-operable mirror actuator. The base portion extends through an aperture in the mirror head. The mirror head includes wall structure that circumscribes and spans a perimeter circumferential edge of a glass substrate of the mirror reflective element. The mirror actuator is operable to adjust the mirror head relative to the base portion, and the aperture allows for movement of the mirror head relative to the base portion. The mirror head includes an electrically-operable accessory that moves together and in tandem with the mirror actuator and the mirror reflective element when the mirror actuator is electrically operated. The accessory, when electrically operated, meets a performance requirement throughout a range of adjustment of the mirror head relative to the base portion.

    Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head movably attached at a mounting base configured for mounting at a side of a vehicle. The mirror head includes a mirror casing and a mirror reflective element. An actuator is operable to move the mirror head relative to the mounting base between at least an extended position and a folded position. The actuator includes a first detent interface that is engaged to maintain the mirror head at the folded or extended position when the mirror head is moved via the actuator to that position. The actuator includes a second detent interface that is engaged to maintain the mirror head at the folded or extended position when the mirror head is manually moved to that position. The second detent interface is not engaged while the actuator moves the mirror head between the folded position and the extended position.

    Abstract: A vehicular driver monitoring system includes an interior rearview mirror assembly including a mirror head and a mirror reflective element, a driver monitoring camera and a video mirror display screen accommodated by the mirror head and that move together and in tandem with the mirror head. The video mirror display screen displays video images viewable through the mirror reflective element. A sensing device generates sensor data representative of an orientation of the mirror head relative to mounting structure and the system determines orientation of the mirror head relative to the mounting structure. Image data captured by the driver monitoring camera is processed based on the determined orientation of the mirror head for monitoring of the driver of the vehicle. Responsive to adjustment of the mirror head relative to the mounting structure, video images displayed by the display screen are adjusted based on the determined orientation of the mirror head.

    Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a powerfold actuator and a mirror head. The powerfold actuator includes an electrically-operable motor that rotatably drives a gear that is engaged with an output gear to pivot the housing portion relative to the output gear and a pivot post. The powerfold actuator includes a base portion fixed relative to the pivot post and the mounting arm, a first gear, a housing portion, a lifter element non-rotatably disposed at the base portion, and a spring element that urges the first gear toward the base portion. With the mirror head at the drive position, the spring element acts on the base portion via the output gear and housing portion. During powered pivoting of the housing portion relative to the pivot post, the spring element acts on the base portion via the output gear and not via the housing portion or the lifter element.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing vehicular slider window assembly includes providing at least one fixed window panel and a perimeter seal having elongated sealing portions joined at respective corner regions. Each of the elongated sealing portions includes a base portion, an elongated sealing lip and an attachment element. The perimeter seal is adhesively attached at the fixed window panel. The corner regions are sealed at the at least one fixed window panel via dispensing a sealant through a passageway formed at an end of the base portion of respective ones of the elongated sealing portions at the respective corner regions to fill a gap between adjacent end regions of the respective attachment elements at the respective corner regions at the surface of the at least one fixed window panel.     Abstract: A method for assembling an electrochromic mirror reflective element includes providing front and rear glass substrates, disposing a transparent electrically conductive coating at a second surface of the front glass substrate, and disposing an electrically conductive coating at a third surface of the rear glass substrate. The front and rear glass substrates are joined via a perimeter seal and an electrochromic medium is disposed within an interpane cavity established between the front glass substrate and the rear glass substrate and bounded by the perimeter seal. With the front glass substrate joined with the rear glass substrate, and with the electrochromic medium disposed within the interpane cavity, the first and second perimeter edges are ground to round the first and second perimeter edges to provide a rounded perimeter edge of the electrochromic mirror reflective element that has a radius of curvature of at least 2.5 mm.

    Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror system includes a vehicle door having an inner sheet metal portion and an outer sheet metal portion. A base bracket includes (i) a body portion, (ii) a mirror mounting portion that extends from the body portion and (iii) an attaching portion that extends from the body portion. The attaching portion is attached at the inner sheet metal portion of the vehicle door. The body portion of the base bracket is partially disposed at an interior portion of the vehicle door between the inner sheet metal portion and the outer sheet metal portion. The mirror mounting portion extends outboard of the outer sheet metal portion from the body portion. A mirror head is attached at the mirror mounting portion of the base bracket. The mirror head includes a mirror reflective element.
