Abstract: An exemplary unified framework that is disclose for identifying which communication beams are to be uplink and/or downlink communication beams. This exemplary unified framework can utilize one or more universal Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) states to identify the one or more communication beams that are to be utilized for uplink and/or downlink communication. The one or more universal TCI states can be used identify the one or more communication beams. And the one or more universal TCI states can include applicability information to identify which control channels, such as the PDCCH and the PUCCH to provide some examples, data channels, such as the PDSCH and/or the PUSCH to provide some examples, and/or signals, such as the DMRS, the PTRS, the SRS, and/or the CSI-RS to provide some examples, are to utilize the communication beams identified by the one or more universal TCI states.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) receives reference signals during a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle to perform frequency and timing tracking or automatic gain control (AGC). The UE receives configuration information corresponding to a reference signal that is to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE) when the UE is in a first operating state, receives the reference signal from a cell of a network when the UE is in the first operating state, performs one of frequency and timing tracking or automatic gain control (AGC) using the reference signal and receives a signal from the cell during a time window that the UE is scheduled to utilize an active mode of data exchange processing.

Abstract: The exemplary embodiments relate to a user equipment (UE) performing radio link monitoring of a sidelink. The UE may transmit a signal over the sidelink and receive an indication of a type of hybrid automatic repeating request (HARQ) feedback in response to the signal. The UE may then generate a radio link metric associated with the sidelink based on the type of HARQ feedback. The UE may determine that the radio link metric satisfies a predetermined threshold and initiate a keep alive procedure for the sidelink based on the radio link metric satisfying the predetermined threshold.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using clear channel assessment (CCA) on a channel prior to transmitting the channel are disclosed. A wireless transmission system may perform omnidirectional CCA using a CCA power threshold that is calculated based on a number of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) transmitted by the wireless transmission system per SSB burst or per synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) block measurement timing configuration (SMTC) window, or on a number of transmit (Tx) antennas used. A wireless transmission system may perform directional CCA on one or more Rx beams that correspond to one or more intended Tx beams using CCA power thresholds calculated based on an equivalent isotropic radiated power (EIRP) of the one or more intended Tx beams to determine directional availability of the channel. A wireless transmission system may determine a CCA power threshold based on a scaling between an actual CCA bandwidth and a nominal CCA bandwidth.

A first is based on CSI-RS, that is relatively wide band so the sequence occupies wider band compared to SSB transmission. The second is more akin to the Secondary Synchronization Signal (SSS) type of sequence in that it occupies a narrower band over the entire bandwidth.

Abstract: The disclosure is related to handover methods in a wireless network. A user equipment (UE) may connect to a first next generation Node B (gNB) of a 5G new radio (NR) network. The UE may then receive a handover command from the first gNB via one of a Layer 1 signaling or Layer 2 signaling that instructs the UE to perform a handover procedure to handover to a second gNB. The UE may then conduct the handover procedure with the second gNB for the UE to connect to the second gNB. Correspondingly, the first gNB may instruct the UE to perform a handover procedure based on a handover command that is transmitted from the first gNB via one of a Layer 1 signaling or Layer 2 signaling, wherein the handover command comprises an identification of a Transmission and Configuration Indication (TCI) state that is associated with the second gNB.
