Abstract:
A method, system and computer readable storage medium for storing instructions for processing COBOL language record description entries that specify data items that include a varying length characteristic are provided. The method includes providing COBOL language record description entries that specify data items that include a varying length characteristic and a plurality of subfields including a length subfield. The method further includes processing the COBOL language record description entries to create at least one of a compiled specification and compiled data. The subfields are treated as a single composite field, and the length subfield is automatically set to the appropriate corresponding value during processing.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel filamentous fungus SD-F06 strain which can infect a root of a plant and grow symbiotically with the plant and is capable of controlling a soil-borne disease. Also disclosed is a material for controlling a soil-borne disease, which comprises a fungus body or fungal culture of a filamentous fungus SD-F06 strain. Further disclosed is a method for controlling a soil-borne disease in a plant by utilizing the material.
Abstract:
A disk device includes a driving unit and a restricting mechanism that are disposed in a housing. The driving unit moves between a withdrawal position and a driving position. The withdrawal position is separated from an outer peripheral edge of a disk that is positioned in the housing, and the driving position is where the disk is rotationally driven. When the driving unit is at the withdrawal position, the restricting mechanism restricts movement of the driving unit toward the driving position.
Abstract:
An authentication apparatus includes: a first determination section that determines whether a condition for determining that there is a possibility of an erroneous determination is satisfied based on information indicating the similarity between the shape of a biological part included in a biological image to be authenticated and the shape of a biological part included in a registration biological image; a change section that changes an aspect ratio of the biological image to be authenticated and registration biological image in the case where the above condition is satisfied; and a second determination section that determines whether a person to be authenticated is a registrant based on the similarity between the shape of a biological part included in a biological image to be authenticated whose aspect ratio has been changed and the shape of a biological part included in a registration biological image whose aspect ratio has been changed.
Abstract:
An image processing system and image judgment method able to suitably judge whether or not an image includes an image of a predetermined subject to be captured as the image and a program run in the image processing system are provided. Edges of a captured image are enhanced, and an evaluation value Ev concerning intensities of edges and/or amounts of edges included in the captured image is acquired based on values of pixels included in this edge enhanced image. It is judged whether or not the captured image includes an image of a predetermined subject FG based on this acquired evaluation value Ev. It becomes possible to accurately judge if the captured image includes an image of the predetermined subject FG. Further, it is also possible to judge if the image of that subject FG is suitable for a predetermined purpose (for example a template use image of biometric authentication) in accordance with the evaluation value Ev.
Abstract:
An input shaft speed signal for rotating a motor at a predetermined rotational speed is output from a rotation control unit to the motor. A rotational speed reduced by a speed reduction device with elastic bodies is detected by an output rotation sensor. A CPU obtains slippage by calculating a reduction ratio based on the detected output shaft speed signal and input shaft speed signal. Load torque is determined from the obtained slippage. A current value to be supplied to the motor is determined so that the motor produces torque corresponding to the load torque. The current value to be supplied from a motor driver to the motor is thus controlled.

The present invention relates to a polymer containing a structural unit based on a compound (A-a) represented by the following formula (1-a): (wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or CH3, X represents —CH2—, —O—, or —SO2—, l represents an integer of 1 or 2, and m1 and n1 each represents an integer of 0 or more, provided that the sum of m1 and n1 is 2), or formula (3): (wherein r represents 1 or 2, m2 represents an integer of 0 to 2, and n2 represents an integer of 1 to 3 provided that the sum of m2 and n2 is 2 or 3, a hydrogen atom in —CH2— being optionally substituted by another functional group). The polymer may contain a structural unit based on a vinyl monomer (B).
Abstract:
An authentication system and method thereof are provided. A threshold value determination unit determines a threshold value Xth so that a Mahalanobis distance defined by a mean value μt of a true profile and a standard deviation σt and the Mahalanobis distance defined by a mean value μo of the other profile and a standard σo coincide.
Abstract:
The invention relates to optically transparent compositions containing hydrophobic silicone oil and alkyl ether carboxylates that are useful e.g. as a hair treatment composition such as a shampoo. In particular, it provides an optically transparent composition comprising (a) a hydrophobic silicone oil; and (b) an alkyl ether carboxylate derived from alkanols having 6 to 22 carbon atoms; wherein the weight ratio of component (b) to component (a) is in the range of 1:1 to 20:1. The composition preferably also contains anionic surfactants as component (c), the total amount of the components (b) and (c) being preferably in the range of 10-25 wt.-% with respect to the total weight of the composition. The invention also provides a method for preparing the above composition.
Abstract:
The invention provides a thermosetting resin composition comprising a bifunctional dihydrobenzoxazine compound and an epoxy compound, and provides a thermosetting resin molding obtained by thermally curing the thermosetting resin composition. The molding has excellent electric properties of low dielectric constant and low dielectric loss tangent. The resin composition comprises an epoxy compound and a bifunctional dihydrobenzoxazine compound of the following general formula (1), wherein the equivalent ratio of the epoxy compound to the bifunctional dihydrobenzoxazine compound is 1/(0.1 to 20): wherein R represents a linear alkylene group having at least 2 carbon atoms, or a branched alkylene group derived from it by substituting the hydrogen atom therein with an alkyl group, and the hydrogen atom of the benzene ring may be substituted with an alkyl group or an alkoxy group.
